Shotty work and takes advantage of those who don`t know what to look for in terms of auto repair. My father had relayed to me to get my floor pans on my 1976 restoration vehicle replaced due to rust. I obliged so he could help me work on them upon his return to the area. The gentleman who owned the establish stated he would weld in the replacement floor pans, battery/heater station, and front valence, and paint ov... view moreer the work areas to make them presentable.
Afterwards, the floor pans began to peel away from the rear and the front. I could see the paste/glue he used to temporarily hold the floor pans up. Both of the floor pans and the battery/heater station is held in my extremely long shank nails with glue and concealing tape around the surface.
After the replacement parts were installed, he spray painted an ugly purple color over everything, including parts I had just replaced. There was no prepping for the paint job contrary to what he had told me. I had to get the engine bay completely sand blasted to remove gunk that had been painted over vice cleaning it, and the new business used a better black paint which looked more professional.
At a minimum, once I get my car running, I will have to drive it down to someone else and get spot welds to ensure the floor pans will stay in place. I am worried I will fall out of car while I am driving. Maybe I will just tow instead.
