Editorial review from Citysearch
I love the truck I got from the Truck Farm but it seems like I was lied to at every turn. I was told that if I had any problems to bring it back and it would be handled. Well, after some searching on the vehicle, I found that the muffler was held up by a clothes hanger---A CLOTHES HANGER---Can you believe that. Shade tree mechanics do things like that. I carried it back and no one at the Truck Farm wanted anythin... view moreg to do with me. Acted like I had small pox. Finally, I was sent to Mitsubisi and even the service manager didn`t want to help. He said if they would repair it, the muffler would just fall down again. Carried the truck to a shop in Liberty and they said it was just a simple repair. WHICH I HAD TO PAY FOR. My recommendation---Stay away from the Gilstrap Family---It seems like they are just a bunch of people who will twist the truth just to line their pockets. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM.

I would avoid this place. They ask way over market value for their cars and trucks. And then want to give you auction price for any trade. They say they dont buy their cars or trucks at auctions but the Carfax says otherwise. This place is not a place to
do business. The manager at the Truck Farm is rude. Bad business!

*EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE, EVEN BETTER WARRANTY.
Josh Southerland is one of the nicest sales managers I have ever met. My sales person was Jake Collins. Both of these guys were very professional and knowledgeable. They printed me off exactly what the car was worth from both NADA and Kellly Blue Book and showed me how much I was saving. They really tried to earn my business. They even gave my daughter a FREE ipad! Now my family has a great new truck, my daught... view moreer has got an iPad for college, I saved thousands, got a LIFETIME WARRANTY, and to top it all off, because I was pressed for time, Jake delivered the truck to my work place all the way in Six Mile! I would recommend these two to my own grandmother god bless her soul. If you want to save some cash, and get the best customer service before, during, and after the sale, stop here. Jake and Josh will take care of you.

Avoid This Place Like the Plauge
My nightmare with the Jay Patterson ""Family of Dealerships"", which include the Truck Farm, Easley Mitsubishi, and Jay Chervolet started when my daughter bought a Tahoe. While the paperwork was being signed, I noticed the two front tires had significant cracks, to which I showed the sales rep and he replaced them. I thought to myself ""good, they will do what is right."" Little that I realize at the time what w... view moreas to come. As with any other dealer, our purchase should have included having the car cleaned and the gas tank filled. This was scheduled 3 times. 1st time, they just didn`t do it and returned it with the gas low light on. During this time the window motor for the drivers side stopped working. They bucked that saying it was under warranty and it would be $100. They did relent after much bickering and fix the window. The appointment was made to clean the car and finally fill it with gas. It was picked up and my daughters workplace 5 hours and 15 minutes late, and brought back with a quarter of a tank and a dirty car. After much haggling, the appointment was rescheduled to be picked up. Of course, this did not happen. We this brought the car back out there on our time, where the were to have cleaned it up and filled the tank. When getting back out there after being told it was done, the car was worse looking than before. They had apparently gotten mad and sprayed silicone wildly on the tires and had the residule thown all over the side. This made it appear to be a circus vehicle. Oh, and by the way, the tank was less than half. When I inquired about this, Shane Gilstrap became very animated thowing his hands around and screeming that they have ""bent over backwards."" I had to warn Mr. Gilstrap not to point at me and to calm down. He also said that they do not fill up sold cars any longer, and implied that other dealers did not also. They said they ""bent over backwards"", when in reallity, I feel that I was ""bent over frontwards""

Sales of SALVAGED CARS!!!!
I purchased a 2001 Infinity Qx4 from the Truck Farm of Easley July of 2006. After a few months of having the vehicle, I went to trade the vehicle for a Honda. Hendrick Honda pulled a car fax of my vehicle and I was then told that my SUV had received a salvaged title in New York. I was not aware of this when I purchased the vehicle from The Truck Farm, nor did I sign anything stating that the car previously had a Salv... view moreaged Title from another state. It had been repaired and received a clean title for this state. Before I purchased the car from Truck Farm of Easley, I had asked for a car fax and I was told there was a problem with the computer but the dealer did show me a copy of the South Carolina Title. Me not knowing then what I do now, I saw the title and continued with purchasing the Infinity. When I confronted the Truck Farm after seeing the carfax, they told me they had no clue it had received a salvaged title because they do not pull car fax`s on vehicles they take from trade in`s if it has a clean title with the state. They offered to take the car back with a trade-in from another vehicle off there lot. After I thought about it for a long time, I came to the conclusion that I did not want to purchase anything from them because I do not trust them. About a year later, after getting a lawyer involved, we all settled with the agreement that the Truck Farm could buy my car back from me. They told me they were sorry and the car was going to be auctioned off. Two months later, I saw the craziest thing ever!!! The same car was sitting on the lot AGAIN! I looked the information up online and the VIN number, miles, and everything matched! They are currently asking $11,990 for it. I wouldn`t recommend anyone to purchase anything from them!

Dear Mr. Gilstrap. You placed an inquiry on my credit file dated March 14, 2008. As you know, Credit Reporting Agencies treat inquiries as statements of fact and will not allow a consumer to dispute them. It is against federal law (Fair Credit Reporting Act -- 15 USC ?1681b) for an entity to view a consumer?s credi... view moret report without a permissible purpose. Given that I do not have an account with your company, nor have I applied for credit with you, I have no choice but to conclude that this inquiry was performed under false pretenses as described by law. 15 USC ?1681n(a)(1)( B ) states that that any entity obtaining a consumer report under false pretenses or knowingly without a permissible purpose, then the law will grant actual damages sustained by the consumer as a result of the failure or $1,000, whichever is greater. Furthermore, 15 USC ?1681m outlines a manner of communication to the customer in the form of an adverse action letter, in the case where credit is not extended. I have no account with you, and I did not apply for credit with you. Under the FCRA, you are civilly liable to me in the amount of minimum $1,000.00 per violation for your willful violation of the law by performing an inquiry on my file without my permission, as well as not giving me proper adverse action disclosure. The court could award me actual damages and statutory damages as well.I spoke with an employee at your dealership concerning a saab, and strictly prohibited him a minimum of 5 times from running a credit check. What you are doing is obviously criminal. Your casual disregard for federal law is frightening, and will soon catch up with you. I have already contacted WYFF channel 4, the Fair Trade Commission, and I have given you enough notice and time to fix this mistake as agreed to.
