If I broke down on 17 beside Jim`s Car Care, I`d literally push my car to Calabash or Shallotte before I let them put a hand on my car. I spent over $1100 to have my A/C converted, which took several trips over a period of months and it still didn`t work. Their main complaint after the conversion was that it`s an older car. I contacted NAPA corporate, and all they did was forward my complaint to Jim, which sent me... view more an e-mail. They were wanting to charge an additional $560 to replace more parts, when I went to Transportation Impact in Castle Hayne and had one o-ring replaced and the A/C recharged for $440 less. It`s been a year and it still works, showing Transportation Impact had it right and saved me a lot of headache and money.

NOT IMPRESSED TOOK 4 DAYS TO FIX NO STARTING PROBLEM

MY BROTHER IN LAW`S CAR WOULD NOT START ON TUESDAY MORNING SO I CALLED JIM`S CAR CARE AND JIM SAID HE WOULD TRY TO WORK US IN THAT AFTERNOON AND GAVE ME THE NUMBER FOR MORGANS TOWING SERVICE. THE TOWING PEOPLE
WERE THERE IN 30 MINUTES AND WERE PROFESIONAL AND DID A GOOD JOB.

I CALLED JIMS AT 2:40 PM AND ASKED BOB IF HE HAD LOOKED AT IT. HE SAID NO BUT TOLD ME SOMEONE WOULD LOOK AT IT AT 3:00 PM.

DROVE OVER THERE THE NEXT MORNING AT 8:00 AM. WHEN WE GOT THERE WE TOLD THEM MY BROTHER IN LAW NEEDED TO GET BACK HOME
TO GO TO WORK AS SOON AS POSIBLE. THE COUNTER GUY WAS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL INDICATING THAT WHERE MY BROTHER IN LAW LIVED WAS A BAD PLACE AND HE SHOULD BE HAPPY TO JUST STAY IN OCEAN ISLE BEACH. HE SAID THEY WOULD LOOK AT THE CAR FOR THE FIRST TIME AT 11:30 AM.

LONG STORY SHORT THEY DID NOT DIAGNOSE PROBLEM CORRECTLY AND IT TOOK THEM UNTIL
FRIDAY AT 1:00 PM IN TO GET THE CAR WORKING.

MAYBE THEY WERE HAVING A BAD WEEK?

Trust worthy shop

I had my car worked on there recently and it was the best experience. The counter guys were very nice and told me exactly what I needed and gave me an estimate for repairs. My car was done the next day and for under the estimate. I had heard a lot of good things about this shop and am glad I tried them. I will go back.

Go somewhere else.

They don`t tell you what is wrong with your car or what need to be done to it unless you ask them SPECIFICALLY. They tend to overlook a few things, of course and not tell you about it. Then tell you what they think needs to be fixed, and you find out that what they thought was wrong with the car isn`t it at all. Overall, they are good people, but have no clue. I`m very frustrated!
