Last week I called and made an appointment at Barry?ˆ™s GM/ ACDelco service station on JT Connell Highway in Newport R.I. We settled on Thursday, June 23rd at 8:00am. At which time I also informed Mark Souza that I needed new breaks, a state inspection, as well as a check on the rattle that was coming from my front driver?ˆ™s side. I dropped my car off at 7:30am on June 23rd when they open. At drop off... view more I asked them to call me with a quote before proceeding with any work on my car so I knew what to expect. Around 2pm on the 23rd I still had not heard anything from them at which time I decided to call and touch base with them. For about 15min I was bounced around to various voice mails, until I finally called the wrong number and got a person I waited on hold for another 15 minutes in order to speak with Mark Souza who is the service consultant. I then found out at that point that regardless of having dropped my car off before the time of my appointment that my car had not even gotten in yet, which frustrated me that I had called and made the appointment a week before and no one even had the decency to call me and let me know that they were running behind. Mark told me he would give me a call back in about 45min with the information on my car, about an hour had gone by when I became even angrier and decided to call another shop on the island to see if they could take my car. When I called Mark to tell him I was pulling my car he told me they didn?ˆ™t have a driver to come pick me up, a few minutes later he then called me to tell me that they were in the middle of my oil change which they had to complete and then they would stop service on my car?ˆ¦which was strange to me sense I had asked them to give me a quote before they worked on my car. I had a friend bring me to the shop so I could pick up my car, at which time Mark then took me into the payment office where this poor woman was sitting and explained to me that they had gotten backed up and he was going to call me when they had information about my car but not before then. I then informed him that I groom dogs for a living, and if I?ˆ™m running behind I call people to let them know not just leave them waiting. He then half heartedly apologized, refused to believe he was in the wrong and also informed me that he would not have been able to fix my car today because he didn?ˆ™t have my break parts in stock ?ˆ¦.?ˆ?so wait I called a week ago to make my appointment?ˆ¦told you what was wrong with my car including the fact that I needed new breaks, you?ˆ™re a GM service station and you didn?ˆ™t even bother to order in the parts that I told you would need and break rotors and pads are not common stock for you in a GM service station??ˆ? I then paid my $44 for my oil change and took my papers that they had given me on what was wrong with my car else where as soon as I took it from Barry?ˆ™s. The paperwork they also gave me stated that I needed two new swing bars ( the diagnosis on the rattle on the front drivers side of my car ), and new breaks and rotors ( which he had already been informed of at the time I made my appointment). So 8 hours after I dropped my car off I had an oil change ( which I don?ˆ™t even really remember asking for) , no state inspection, breaks that were still unsafe because he hadn?ˆ™t gotten the parts in for my car previous to my appointment, and needing two new swing bars. Where I took my car into yesterday evening called me at 9AM and informed me of everything I needed, including the fact that I did not need two new swing bars just one for the side that had the rattle, the Honda shop also magically had my break pads and routers in shop?ˆ¦amazing.
