With only 4000 characters...this post will certainly not fully express this establishment. We took our vehicle in for an estimate. Here was the problem with our car: The car shut of while we were driving it. Very dangerous, especially when we were on the highway going about 65/70 miles per hour. Also, the car was having up shift and down shifting problems. So mid January, when we got the estimate, we were told that i... view moret was a turbine something, and the catalytic converter. So, 1/31/12 we took it in to get fixed. After two days, and $900.00 later, the car was done, and drove fine. Well, two weeks later, on 2/14/12 the car shut off again right on 309. Not fun. So we had it towed right back to Cottman`s. Well the next day we were told that it is now all of a sudden a crank sensor and map sensor. But what is ironic, is Bill, the shop owner said that map sensor was bad during the estimate, however did not tell us about that. So now Bill wants $270 more dollars to fix that. But didn`t Bill say he fixed the problem the first time? So obviously that wasn`t the problem, and that turbine thing and catalytic converter were not the problem. Bill was no help, was wrong in his diagnosis, and is now trying to squeeze more money out of us. I do not recommend this garage for anything. As Bill was very nice during the first couple conversations, Bill has now become not so nice. Customer Relations there at the Cottman`s wasn`t any help either. They immediately took the side of the garage. Took the side of someone who said they fixed a problem, when they did not. Bill has since been extremely disrespectful towards us, has lied to us and the woman handling our situation in the Customer Relations Department. It`s a shame that Bill couldn`t handle this in a fair matter, and is more worried about what he can get away with. Where are the personal values of honesty and integrity? Not in Bill`s garage, that is for sure. A local business that stays afloat by taking advantage of it`s customers. It`s time that it is stopped.
It`s funny the service philosophy the owner has posted. "All Cottman Transmission and Total Auto Care centers abide by Cottman`s complete service philosophy, which calls for your vehicle to be repaired properly the first time, so that you don`t have to lose either time or money." That is certainly NOT the case here. Thanks Bill! Good Luck!
