Berwyn Detweiler Sr. started things with various locations including Stewart Ave., Fayette Street and finally at their current location at Morgantown Street, Uniontown. There has been many changes in the automobile business in the last 70 plus years. One thing that has not changed is the way Berwyn and Sons do business. No high pressure sales tactics, no bait and switch: you buy what you want, not what the sales person wants to sell you. Just the same way Berwyn Sr. did business for many years. The Detweiler`s have dedicated employees. All employees have been here over 10 years, which is saying something, with the turnover in the auto business, but business in general. Good, clean, late model used cars have long been Berwyn S. Detweiler`s claim to fame. They would never buy a car from an Auction, Private owner or any other source knowing there were major mechanical or body problems. Reputation is being in business and the Detweilers now 3rd generation is doing everything in their power to uphold their good name. Berwyn is now 85 years young and every morning he reports for work. He just does not know any other way. Honesty and hard work is what they know best! Service is a very important issue that a lot of places do not care about or pay enough attention to. Again this goes back 2 generations, if something is not repaired right, bring it back and have it fixed at no charge to you.
