Awesome!
They not only explained everything that was going on but went above and beyond my wildest dreams!!! They helped me and saved me thousands! And not in a ""cheap-fix"" way. The put more time and effort into my major repair than I could have ever asked.

Emory Transmission Saved Us $5,000!!!!!!
My daughter`s 2005 Nissan Xterra was overheating. There was nothing but a while milky foam substance in the radiator so I filled it with water and we scheduled a radiator flush. However, before we could get the car into the garage, the transmission started seriously slipping and my daughter pulled the car off to the side of the road and called me. We were about a block away from Emory Transmission but it was late aft... view moreernoon and they were closed. They had done some work for me over the years and saved me some serious money on at least two occasions.
I was able to drive the car onto their lot and put the hood up. Not being a mechanic, I suspected the radiator and transmission problems were related somehow but was puzzled how. All of a sudden, a mechanic from the garage, who was heading home for the day, showed up to help!! No sooner than I told him the symptoms, he diagnosed the problem! Turns out, the Nissan Xterra`s had a design flaw in their radiators. A transmission cooler cycling transmission fluid was actually inside the radiator, surrounded by anti-freeze! Over time, the anti-freeze corroded the transmission cooler causing the coolant to mix with the transmission fluid!!! There was no water in the radiator because it was all inside the transmission! I would have never guessed in a million years!! The mechanic spent a good 20-30 minutes of his time, off duty, helping us and suggesting various options. With all the info he provided, I went home that evening and Googled the problem as he explained it. I discovered that Nissan extended the warranty on the radiator to 80K miles because of this defect. We had the car towed to a Nissan dealership the next day and they confirmed everything the Emory Transmission mechanic told us. Nissan agreed to replace the defective radiator and damaged transmission.
I can`t say enough about the guys, including the owner, at Emory Transmission. I`ve always known them to be honest & trustworthy but they went above & beyond on this one! My daughter could no way afford $5000 for a new transmission & radiator. Thanks to their employee who, even though off duty and heading home, took 1/2 hr out of his personal time to offer his expertise & help us out of a tight spot. We love, love, love Emory Transmission and, besides our regular mechanic, are the only ones we trust to work on our cars!!!

Just earned all my business
Called up to set up an appointment. I thought my whole transmission was shot. They were able to fix it over the phone, knowing that it was just my 4 wheel drive being stuck. Could of had me bring it down and charged me to fix it, but instead were honest and helped me out for nothing. To me that equals TRUST

HIGHLY recommended
I had a great experience with this shop. I called with an error code from a dealership who wanted to replace my transmission for over $4500. The owner knew exactly what the error code was , told me over the phone, and gave me a price, half the cost of the dealership. Plus, since it was a design flaw, he was fixing that, when the dealership may have given me exactly the same flaw in a replacement transmission. He c... view moreonfirmed the error codes himself and called before starting the work.
I never felt pressured. On top of all this, since it was an AWD, he did some pre-maintenance on that part as a normal part of his service. He also arrranged for the flatbed tow from the dealersip it was at.
I noticed a bit of oil drip on a friday evening. I called Emory. He called his mechanic back in to to work and they checked it immediately. Turned out to be no problem and there was no charge.
My service work was over a year ago and our vehcile has had no issues since.

Great shop
I was told by another shop that my car needed a $800 plus clutch job. On a recommendation from a friend I took my car to Emory. The owner took it for a drive, taking the time to explain how to evaluate it to a mechanically illiterate doctor. Turns out I needed neither a new clutch or his services but I appreciate his honesty and will take my cars to him if they ever need transmission work

Expert Transmission Service at Honest, Reasonable Prices!
A friend at work recommended Emory Transmission in New Cumberland back in 2003 when I needed some transmission work. He had just had some major work done there after getting several quotes, with Emory being the lowest. Like him, I was immediately impressed with their expertise and, just as important, their fair and honest customer service and reasonable prices. They gave me a range of options and I ended up saving ... view moresome serious bucks:-) Since then, I`ve considered them my transmission shop and have all my routine transmission maintenance i.e. filter, fluid changes, programing, etc. done there. Being the owner of an older Chrysler minivan, notorious for transmission problems, I really appreciate having a first class transmission shop which charges fair & reasonable prices. I know I can trust them. If you`re in need of a reputable transmission shop, you won`t go wrong checking these folks out. Highly recommend!
