Took my 06 Victory in for the ...

Took my 06 Victory in for the MANDATORY state inspection ($25). When George called the day after, I was informed that my rear brake pads were thin and they had been replaced; $64 (!!!) rear brake pads from a Victory dealer...not to mention a $10 charge because his employee had to fetch them. ALL of this without ever asking me if he could do work on the bike. When confronted (never threatened with payment withhol... view moreding) his response included the following... I did not realize you were a mechanic. You should have spoken up earlier! Scrape off the inspection sticker and take off the pads! Your bike fails inspection! The state police will come to your house!...I am making the call now! Look at these other invoices for much higher amounts! You should not complain! $75 (parts + delivery charge) is not a lot of money and I am sure he s not dishonest. However, if you go here, you will be dealing with a GROWN MAN WHO WON`T ADMIT WHEN HE IS WRONG, much less be courteous about it...and has the power of a MANDATORY state inspection certification behind him.
