Stating that you are under new management does not mean the business is any better than before. I could not believe someone would try and take advantage of out of Towner?ˆ™s as bad as this company tried less than a week before Christmas. The day before our last day on our anniversary vacation at the beach, a warning light in our car alerted us to a potential charging failure. Being so far from home we decided to have i... view moret checked out hoping it would be a minor problem like a loose wire or replacing the battery. As we were waiting in the lobby, the so called mechanic that was going to look at our car walks in and states to the receptionist that he has been searching for a fuse box that doesn?ˆ™t exist. At this point I knew if it was a big problem, I would not be having him do the work but we still needed to find out what the problem was. He comes back in after checking over the car and states that our battery needed to be replaced. Being relieved it was just a battery we told him we were scared it was something like the alternator because of the warning light. He instantly says he has to finish the check. He comes back and now states the alternator is fried and they cant get another one for a day or two. We knew this would probably be a cost of $800 to $1200. Stressed that Christmas was ruined, we decided to cut our vacation short and try to make it back home. We were able to make it back into town and stopped at United Battery in Longview WA to see about getting it fixed. They checked it out and said the battery was low but would probably last a little wile longer and the alternator was just fine. Happy and upset at the same time we bought a battery anyway and decided to make United Battery our permanent place for these kind of problems. It?ˆ™s so nice to find an honest person you can rely on. As for Peninsula Automotive (4015 Pacific HWY STE. 103, Sea view WA.) SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!!!!!! I do have to say that the receptionist was the only good thing about our experience with the place. I wish she would find a better company to work for.
