Lee and the crew at Canby Car Care are A-1 in my book. They are always friendly, helpful and looking for ways to help me save money. I`ve been using Canby Car Care for years, and they`ve helped me keep my 1996 Chrysler which now has over 200,000 miles on it, running like a champ.

HAD A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!!!

You won`t believe the amazing service you will get at CANBY CAR CARE! If I could give them 100 stars, I would. They are friendly, talented family business that knows what they`re doing!!! This place really does CARE for your car..Canby Car Care

I have been taking my vehicle(s) to canby car care since i have been driving...12+ years

I will drive out of my way to have my car fixed at this shop. They are very honest, dependable and straight forward.

Diagnosing a vehicle is no different then a doctor diagnosing a sickness. Every symptom may have a different cause and it may NOT take the first diagnosis to fix the problem. Sometimes it may be some... view morething simple others it may take a few things to fix. i have experienced both and is highly satified with the work. I have never had to return on any work that was done. Owning an older vehicle with high miles, is expected to have things detiorate and have to fix things frequently, parts these days are not made to last...but canby car care does the best work... Anytime i have had parts replaced, they saved the old ones so i can see for myself damage done to them. I dont know any other car repair shop to do this...

Delaying repair can also cause other major issues...im also given a recommendation as to what i should repair in the future to prevent future break downs or other damage to my vehicle. This is very handy especially not being mechanically intelligent. Other repair shops would take advantage of this and recommend work that is not needed, just to help with their sales...that is not the case with this shop.

Canby car care has been honest with there work and i have ""NO"" complaints my car has always been taken care of. No body wants to spend alot of money on a car when it breaks down but its no different then paying a doctor for an illness on yourself or a family member. Owning a car is expensive and maintaining it can be...which is why i recommend canby car care they have great rates!

They have a waiting room that is children friendly...and i can wait in a relaxed setting while my vehicle is being repaired. The employees are friendly and have a great sense of humor. I highly recommend this shop to anyone wanting work done on there car.

A one-star rating is being generous

My experience with Canby Car Care was less than positive. A few years ago I took my car to them to diagnose and repair the cause of a lack of power. They began replacing parts right and left, each time with no improvement to the car`s performance; in fact it ran even worse that when I brought it to them. They never did diagnose the original problem; they merely began replacing parts hoping for a fix, then when one pa... view morert didn`t resolve the problem, they would blame it on another component or system needing repair. This happened four times. After the bill reached $850 with no results, I took the car home because I needed it for work. A week later I ran it through DEQ and it wouldn`t pass. I brought it back to Canby Care Care and requested that they fix whatever was now making it fail DEQ. Instead of attempting any diagnosis or repair of the actual problem, their solution was to drive it around to several of the Portland metro area DEQ stations until it passed, then charging me for their mechanic`s time at the going labor rate. I discussed my dissatisfaction with the owner and he became indignant, claiming they ""don`t guarantee they can fix every problem"". Several of the parts they had replaced were brand new, as I had replaced them myself before bringing the car to them, but they claimed they were all worn and needed replacing. They didn`t save the old parts for inspection though, as most reputable shops do, so I had no way of proving they were good. Frustrated and angry, I paid the balance of my bill, took my car and limped it home. The next day I found the problem myself; a bad fuel pump, easily diagnosed with a pressure guage. I fixed it myself in 45 minutes, for under $50, and it has run perfectly ever since.

Just this week I did a tune up on this same car, and I found more evidence of shoddy work on engine components that they had worked on. They had installed a new gasket right over the old one on one side of the intake manifold plenum (the old gasket on the other side had been removed and replaced), and a bolt was missing from the throttle body assembly and lying on the block, causing a minor vacuum leak (it couldn`t have vibrated loose since the bolt hole was on the top of the sensor).

But there`s more...a while back I noted a fluid leak under my wife`s van and found a stripped bolt on the transaxle that they had worked on a few months earlier. It had been caulked in to hold it in place. Of course the warranty had expired by the time I discovered it.

My advice would be to avoid Canby Car Care at all costs; I would hate for someone else to go through what we had to. You would be money ahead to take your vehicles somewhere else. I found a much more competent and reasonable shop in Canby, and have taken our vehicles there, with 100% satisfaction.
