On July 9, 2012 we had the experience of going to Larry Morton`s Transmission. I had talked with him last week by phone. He was quite knowledgable. He was laid back and indicated we could bring the vehicle in on the following business day and he`d look at it. If there was nothing wrong with the vehicle, there would be no charge.
He checked out the vehicle and found that the problem we were experiencing was not... view more related to the transmission. He even commented on how well maintained the transmission was.
This guy is a credit to the automotive industry. So often folks get ripped off. There is certainly no indication of that occurring here. He was as pleasant in person, if not more so, than he was on the phone. I would not give a second throught to going to see him.
A satisfied customer in Oregon City, OR.
PS - as for the guy with a Volkswagon, they are crap. Especially a Jetta.

Larry Morton was my last option at a repair for my transmission. When I went in, my car was not shifting right, driving right, and was frankly in sick shape.
Three days later, I had a rebuilt transmission and two U-Joints: $1300.00.
The other quotes I recieved were upwards of $5,000.
Larry isnt a flowery guy, but I cant afford to have someone hold my hand and be my grandmother.
Truth is, if you ... view moredont read the paperwork, and dont get your stuff taken care of... dont bother asking him. He doesnt take a liking to people who don`t take care of business.

DO NOT GO WITH LARRY MORTON`S TRANSMISSION!!!
I bought a car from a dealer with a 1 year warranty on the transmission from Larry Morton`sTransmission Service (he re-built the transmission on 3/9/09) The warranty was then transferred to me when I bought the car in July 2009. The transmission started to go out in January of 2010 and got to the point where I couldn`t even drive it anymore. We took it to Larry`s in February of 2010 (while the warranty was still good... view more) and he told us that it was an electrical problem and that it wasn`t covered under warranty. He was being rude the whole time and it seemed as if he just didn`t want to fix it, we were going to get a second opinion on it, but the problem stopped right after we took it to Larry`s (I don`t know if this was something he did while working on the car or just coincidence). 1 month after the warranty was up it started up again so we took it somewhere else and they let us know that the transmission was going out and needed re-built!!!! So Larry lied to us the first time, we took it back to him after that and he said that he could pay to fix it, but it wasn`t his problem because the warranty was up. I asked him if it was normal for the transmission to go out 1 year after he re-built it and he told mem it wasn`t his fault Volkswagens were CRAP!!! I told him I would be taking my services elsewhere (the place we took it to warrantied it for 3 years compared to Larrys 1 year) DO NOT GO WITH LARRY!!!
