Inferior Components

My 2005 Rouge Marine boat seats were built by Bernies Sure Fit Upholstery. They lasted less than 3 years. When I took them in to have the bottoms remade I found they used Birch plywood and Zinc T-nuts. Both of the components are not suited for marine applications. I spoke to Rouge Marine directly to see if they had furnished Bernies a specification for materials to use and their response was " Well he also builds ... view moreseats for Fish Rite and Willies". Last week I ran into a guy out on the river with a Fish Rite sled and he had the exact same problem. I referred him to a shop in Portland that you can trust. Told him to expect a $600 bill. My advise to you is to make sure you spec the materials to use. MARINE GRADE PLYWOOD AND STAINLESS T-NUTS.
