My father and I have had 3 transmissions built by Watson Transmission. The transmissions have held up great and the work was done quicker than expected. David Watson even went over some additional steps to get the most life out of them. I will continue my business with WT.

I recently drove my vehicle to Watson`s Transmission on the Monday after Christmas to have the transmission looked at. They were closed on Monday so I called David Watson the following morning to let him know that I ONLY wanted an ESTIMATE to repair the transmission. I specifically said that I did NOT want the transmission worked on until I had an estimate because I did not want to spend too much money. I repeatedly ... view morecalled for the next couple of days asking for an estimate.
I finally received a call on Thursday morning asking me to bring by another key because they lost the original key that I had provided, so I took them another key on my lunch break. I then called Thursday at 5pm asking what they had determined the problem was, and still they could not give me an answer. David told me he would call me back that evening and never did. I called yet again Friday morning, at lunch and then again at 5pm. Finally at 5pm he gave me an estimate of $1350. I immediately told him not to fix the transmission and that I would just drive it until it finally broke down.
He proceeded to tell me that I could not pick up the truck until it was fixed. When I asked why I couldn`t pick it up he told me that it was completely disassembled and could only be put back together with the new parts. I told him that I was not prepared to spend that much money and did not authorize him to disassemble the transmission. He then admitted that he never told me any kind of estimate, that he thought we were on the same page as to him fixing the transmission and that he had made a mistake. I told him to hold off and let me see what I could do over the long New Year?ˆ™s weekend, and that if he could please figure out how we can fix this since I never told him to fix the transmission in the first place.
After the long weekend I called him back to talk about the issue and let him know there was no way I could afford to pay him that amount. He said to look for a used transmission at a salvage yard and that he would just charge labor to install it along with whatever fluids he would have to use. I called around to the local salvage yards to see if anyone had one that would work and no luck. I then called David back and told him that I could not find a salvage yard that has a transmission that would work and that I think he needs to help fix the wrong doing and make it right. I tried to get him to meet me half way and kept telling him that I was thinking that I thought $600 was going to be our very worst scenario. He would not entertain that idea and said that the best he could do was to take $200 off the total price. He said that he was not going to play this game and that he would just push my truck out the door and that I need to get it off his property. I have 2 kids, one vehicle and David Watson is leaving me with no transportation to and from work. I told him that if I don?ˆ™t have transportation to work I will lose my job. His answer to that was I don?ˆ™t care it?ˆ™s not my problem. So please do not let David Watson take advantage of you, he is dishonest and will take everything apart leaving you with a vehicle that wont run.
