Beware Dishonest Dealership. I...
Beware Dishonest Dealership. I bought a used car with pre-existing problem they promised they will fix it. left the car @ their service Dept. for a week and never fixed it. On May 20, I called Mike Taylor interested in the Mitsubishi Outlander they had on Traders on line. We agreed on the price. And I Repeatedly ask him if there is anything wrong with car before I put the family in the car and drive Approx. 90 miles... view more. In addition, he confirmed time after time that the car is in excellent condition, and he got buyers drive from other states to purchased cars from their dealership. On May 21st We were at the dealer ship about 9:15 AM, we checked the car out it was not as described had scratches on the dashboard and crack on the rear light which mostly cosmetic we decided to over look those issues, we did get a $100 back for the rear light marker because it was broken. We bought the car we drove it out the lot and as soon as we drove it in the HWY. we could not tolerate the loud humming noise came from the wheels. I called Mike Taylor and I Told him about it. He asked me if we can come back to the dealership so we did. Mike drove the car and while he was driving it, he called the service Dept. to discuss that loud noise coming from the wheels. We went back to the service Dept. after waiting all day (5:00 PM) Scott Carman (Assistant service manager) told us it is the wheel Bearings. He believed it is both sides but until he replaces the one side, he will decide if other sides need it. At that time, we had two choices either come back on Wed. when they get the parts (the Bearings) or leave it there and he will take care of it and call us when it is ready. For a couple of days, we did not hear from their Service Dept. So I called the dealership and I left couple massages to the managers. Finally, I got a call back from Jason. He told me that he took the car to a Mitsubishi dealership service Dept. to get it fixed. It was strange that they have a full service Dept. and they took it to another dealership. Well Jason said it is under factory warranty. The next day I got a call from Jason saying the Mitsubishi service Dept. found nothing wrong with the vehicle and that noise is normal, it was hard to believe that because I had four Mitsubishi cars in my life. Mike Taylor (Salesperson) mentioned before that the car had new tires on it and sometime new tires make noise until they wear out a little. Then you took it to Zeibart for tinting the windows on the car, that was part of the deal and it is only a couple of hours job. On Friday May 27. Noon, We got the car and it is still as noisy as before. Nothing was done to it, after almost a week sitting at the dealership. Bell Tire came up with the same conclusion as Scott Carmen Rouen assistant service manager. They gave me an estimate per wheel bearing, this estimate is for one side only double it if both sides need it which the service Manager at BELL TIRE belief it is more than one side. But until they fix the first bearing they will be able to tell. I called Joe Lopez that Saturday morning and discussed with him what the next step, he told me to take it to the Mitsubishi Dealership it is still under Factory Warranty. Therefore, I Called a local Dealership (Moran Mitsubishi, Southfield, MI) and the service Dept. told me the wheel Bearings are out of warranty. I have to pay for it. Therefore, I called Jason to find out if I can get a copy of Brown`s Mitsubishi service record on this vehicle; he said they did not get any paper work on it. I searched the web for the Mitsubishi dealership in Toledo and I called the Brown`s Service Dept. and discussed what was done to this Vehicle. They said they were not told to check any of the WHEEL BEARINg, They were told not to worry at the humming noise only the (non existing) Rattle noise. so they don`t have to pay for the repair.
