After negotiating a price over the phone I drove 5 hours to inspect and potentially buy the 2006 61,000 mile Nissan 350Z. The car looked great, drove fine (considering it was a sports car being tested in a snow storm). Within 2 weeks of buying the car I discovered the clutch was slipping ($1700), the dealer had covered about 12-15 chips of paint and several scratches on the body (I discovered after washing the car ab... view moreout 5 times), and the TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) was not working, they must have cleared the code in the computer long enough for me to test drive it. ..........8 months later I have to overhaul the transmission ($2120) and replace 1 cracked aluminum rim ($300-$800) because some one ragged on this car. I did a lot of research, the Nissan 350Z is a great car (consumer reports) but this dealer chose to cover things up and lie about the car not needing anything. Lesson learned. Get the vehicle inspected by a mechanic, period.
