he serviceman Doug overcharges for the repair parts. My daughter took the car in for repair of an engine miss fire. He claimed it was due to an intake manifold gasket leak. On this car the manifold had an upgrade by the manufacture. Therefore the gaskets for the original were not available. A new intake manifold had to be installed. The part he said was around $440. I checked locally in CA & was quoted about $200... view more. I questioned him about the parts & was told how much more they were in Fargo & how little he marked them up. The bill was over $1000 including less than $200 for a ball joint replacement. A couple of weeks later the car had to go back as the engine was still miss firing. They replaced the spark plug wires. They then said the alternator was also bad. I was quoted about $110 & $245 for the Alternator. Since I was not there to confirm these issues, there is question about the necessity of some of them. Doug had mentioned he got quotes for parts from Napa Auto parts. So I called Auto Zone & Napa Auto parts in Fargo for prices. I was quoted by Auto Zone $159 for the Alternator & $250 for the manifold. Napa quoted $189 for the Alternator & $294 for the manifold. These are all prices to the general public. I was told by Napa a price to a wholesale customer like a repair shop for the Alternator would be $176. I confronted Doug again on the prices & he said he could send me list prices for these parts. He still maintain how expensive they were & how little he marked them up. I told him he was overcharging & this was not true. The wholesale prices would never be more that would be charged for the general public. I am pursuing further action over the charges with the corporate office. I am not convinced the repairs were all needed in light of the response over the charges for the parts.
