Reviews:
On the plus side, my salesman was very knowledgeable about the car. In addition, he was genuinely personable and there was no pressure to buy on that first visit. I like the size of the dealership and the fact that it is also very convenient.
My con so far was in the actual ... view morenegotiating of the deal. I ended up leasing my Volvo and was well aware of the money factor, residuals, and the deals that were running. My salesman, to be honest, was not very knowledgable of the finances, so for every little thing, it went back to the manager. It was like pulling teeth to get them to show the details of how they were coming up with these lease numbers and after all of my questions, it still wasn`t 100% clear how the fees broke down. Honestly, I should have negotiated harder, because I should have been able to get a rate based on, say, just over invoice and I got one based on the MSRP, only getting rid of that $499 bogus markup they call a delivery / handling fee. I believe I could have gotten a lease for at least $20/month less at another dealer, but I think I put a lot of weight on the convenience factor of the dealer being very close to home. Anyway - my fault for not sticking to my guns longer, but it would be nice when buying a car such as a Volvo if they offered the most competitive price they could do up front instead of pullng the wool over your eyes.
That being said, I love the car as well as the included maintenance and look forward to see how the service experience plays out.
however, Cary is closer. I thought I`d give volvo of Cary a chance. And since I will be buying a car in the very near future. why not.
I made an appointment, since incidently I was told the service department doesn`t work on Saturdays and its by appointment only, but yes on Memoria... view morel Day. Anyway, arrived 10 minutes before the appointment was scheduled, checked in, told them I needed antifreeze coolant, service light and the break lights checked, in my mind this was a 1 hour job ( If that ). I was told we`ll call you when ready. OK. 3 hours later no call, I went back to the dealer to find out what was taking so long. The car was still in the same place as I had left it. Strange. I go in and asked why. The response was ""we have people who are waiting"". Ok, so what is the point of making and appointment?. ""We make appointments for all day, and we try and get to them all by the end of the day"", This doesn`t answer why my car has not been touched. "" I promise it will be the next car in"". OK, but I need this out within the next 1.5 hours. I have to pick up the kids at school, are we clear. ""Yes, sure"".
I am standing outside and a mechanic comes gets in the car beside mine and drives it into the shop.
It was flat out lied too. I cannot do business with a company who treats customers like this.
I was checking out the dealership, since I fixed all this issues at home in 20 minutes. Volvo of Cary wasted my valuable time due to their lack of planning and lousy customer service
