Having worked for many Dealers...

Having worked for many Dealerships in the great Charlotte area, and having been an Insurance Adjuster for many years, I know when people are honest or not. I was recommended to this shop my my CPA. When I I needed my car inspected, I knew it would not pass due to the brake light on the dash being on. They could have changed me for any `fix.` The mechanic told me it just needed sone brake fluid-no charge! My car passe... view mored inspection, and I since been back for brakes, but told I still have many thousands of miles to go, again no charge. I`ll tell anyone how great this shop is!

There are better places to get your car repaired

I recently took my 2009 Chevy Tahoe to the 6th Street Charlotte, NC location of McCarthy Tire. I`ve been a long time customer of this location. Before it was a McCarthy Tire Center I had my cars serviced with Gerard. I asked for an oil change and for the mechanic to check out the check engine light. After running the codes the mechanic determined that the issue was my gas cap was loose. I was charged $85 on my bi... view morell for this determination in addition to $30 for the oil change. I realize this is a business and you`ve got to have a margin, but I feel that I was taken advantage of on the $85 charge. Many of your competitors offer this diagnostic service for free. And there was no real auto repair service required or rendered. While I like the location of McCarthy in Charlotte and the ability to drop my car off at the location and walk to work, I will not be having my car serviced with McCarthy Tire again. Their competitors are offering a better value.

I don`t usually write reviews,...

I don`t usually write reviews, but I feel like these guys deserve it. I took my car in for new brakes only to be told I have another 25-30,000 miles left on my current pads. Most places would have just charged me the $ and moved on, but these guys were honest about it, thus earning a customer for life. I`m glad they are right outside my neighborhood! Lucky me! They just want your money!

I came in with a simple request and willing to pay for the work done. I needed my Full size spare tire to be used to replace a near bald tire. The spare is located under my car. to get to the spare you need to open the hatch, The hatch is broken. I asked if I could access it through the inside? I was told NO the you MUST open the rear hatch to access the spare. He then tells me all he can do would be to place a bran... view mored new tire on my car for $100. Not able to pay that amount for a car I will only have for two more weeks.. . I went home and googled my car to find out the release was right in the back seat. I had no problem doing it my self!!! Thanks for NOTHING!!!!! I am glad I am not the sucker You thought I was! Save your time and MONEY go somewhere ELSE!!!

In regards to the review on inspections at GerrardTire as opposed to the other place. If you get a NCSI as fast as 10 minutes they were not in compliance with the North Carolina Inspection Regulations.

Horrible and rude service

I called about having my car NC inspected and was told they weren`t busy. When I arrived there was one person in front of me and it`d be about 30 minutes. There were 2 to 3 people in the waiting room. Over one hour later they had not started on my car and didn`t know when they could get to it. I was told ""the guy was busy with tire work"".

We have dropped 100s maybe 1000s of dollars on tires and servic... view moree there over the years and I cannot believe they couldn`t do one stupid inspection in an hour. I took the car to Southend Auto Inspector where I should have gone in the first place and was out of there in under 10 minutes.
