Botched Job
I took my transmission to Aamco on High Point Rd. in Greensboro NC and upon picking my car up I realized that it was making a strange noise that obviously was not coming from the transmission but was happening when I cranked my car up. They pulled the car back in and proceeded to tell me that the starter must not have been firing in the same place because they had to take the starter out when they rebuilt the t... view moreransmission and that the noise may go away but they tried to quiet the noise but it didn`t work. I was not happy with it but due to the fact that I could not contact anyone at the time that may know what the noise was not to mention it was a Friday at 5:00 I told them that I would be back so went ahead and payed the $1,900 for the transmission work. It`s Aamco a well known establishment so you are not thinking that if it was a real issue that they would have any trouble making whatever it was right. I went to Lexus the next day to get my oil changed and they said "hey do you know that your transmission is leaking pretty bad?" I was understandably pissed...!! They said that I need to make sure that Aamco takes a look at it and get it fixed. At the time I asked them about the noise that the starter was making and they explained that it was not put back in correctly. I went back to Aamco and they tried a few things and the noise was worst so they went back to plan A and said they couldn`t get the starter noise to stop. After going back and forth with them for apporximately 4 days back and forth and having a male friend of mine speak with them they still didn`t get the issue resolved so now it`s going to cost me another $1,500 to fix their mess!!! They had to have known what the issue was they do this for a living but I am sure that they won`t admit to it because that would mean taking the transmission back out to fix the problem which would take them about 11 hours and would cost them more money to correct. Basically they kept telling me that "It`s just a little noise and I may just have to live with it!!" Well it wasn`t an issue that the car had prior to me dropping it off and I won`t live with it. I am now in the process of disputing the cost that I will incur to get someone else to fix a problem that they created..as well as speaking with my lawyer. No one should have to ever go though this type of hassle!! They think because I am a woman that I will just let it ride and forget it!! I know that they obviously don`t know who I am or the standing I have in the community but they are about to find out...The HARD WAY!!
