Dishonest and I can prove it! AVOID!!!
I have used the New Bern Ave Firestone off and on for years and have often suspected they were dishonest but they are very convenient. However, today I caught them red handed attempting to sell me unneeded brake work. I took my Sienna in to have the brakes checked. They said it needed many things, including new rotors and calipers on the front brakes. The estimate was almost $800. They said the rotors had very deep g... view morerooves and could not be resurfaced. I don`t know much about cars but I do know that metal on metal digging grooves into rotors would have to make some noise and there was no noise. I declined the work and took it to another garage. The rotors had light wear and were readily resurfaced. The calipers were fine. My total bill was a little over $300. I saved almost $500 by taking the time to go to an honest shop. I say avoid the Firestone crooks at all costs. The $850 wheel hub a couple of years ago should have been enough warning but I gave them one last chance.

jack up the price
After having gone to 3 of Raleigh`s Firestone stations over 15 yrs, I plead with you-- STAY AWAY!! The first didn`t attach the oil pan back correctly after an oil change, and ALL the oil ended up in my driveway!! I had the car towed back thru AAA, and after fixing the problem, they actually wanted to REcharge me! At the New Bern store, I had quoted about 6 places for 2 jobs to be done on my car. They ""added"" o... view morento the basic price of each job with unnecessary extras that would have cost $175 IN ADDITION to the average prices I found elsewhere. After talking to Honda experts at a well known Honda service center in Raleigh, I found the ""extras"" they added onto the jobs were COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY. THEN when getting my car serviced at the reputable place, they found I was 3 quarts down on my oil, after 3000 miles. Newer cars don`t burn oil like the old ones, and my driveway attested to the fact that my car was NOT leaking additional oil-- we all came to the conclusion that my last oil change at the New Bern Firestone PROBABLY WAS NEVER DONE!! (One of the major network nighttime news shows recently did an investigation that ""pseudo"" oil changes-- AKA-- you pay, but they simply don`t do them, happens on a regular basis, especially at the ""quick"" oil-change places). Firestone is KNOWN for ""adding"" onto basic services, thereby draining YOUR wallet. After these 3 experiences, NEVER again will I even THINK about going to ANY of them!! Proceed at your own risk!
