The owner of this company is obviously old, tired, and needs to retire!
He attempted to charge me for a FREE ESTIMATE!!!!
Then they installed the glass in my vehicle swearing it would be oem glass and it isnt!
Glass masters would have installed the same glass 3 days sooner for 50 bucks cheaper and i would have never had to deal with idiot RICE.

...the previous installer had ...
...the previous installer had taught me how to remove the mirror, it was very easy, only required a 90 degree twist to the right or the left. Once I removed it I immediately saw the problem. The clip had an arrow on it with the word ?ˆ?UP?ˆ? underneath the arrow. Problem was the arrow was pointing 30 degrees to the right, not straight UP. Because of this the mirror was never actually securely locked in place and had enou... view moregh play to move up and down. I reasoned that the crack must have originated from this constant movement. With this new information I went straight up to Rice?ˆ™s and talked with the owner again.
Again it was like pulling teeth with this guy hed grasped for anything before finally giving up and saying, ?ˆ?WELL, if that how you feel then we will cover it, do you still want it done tomorrow??ˆ? I said ?ˆ?yes, of course?ˆ? and that was pretty much it. The next day rolled around and they never showed, 1pm rolled around and I finally decided to give them a call. They told me the repair need to be done in their shop because the owner wanted to supervise it, after even more discussion I finally agreed to the further inconvenience and drove the vehicle to their shop. After arriving I went inside and dropped off the key, I then went back to the vehicle to take photos of the interior and the exterior paying close attention to the rubber trim pieces and interior. I wasn?ˆ™t doing this out of spite but at this point I was a bit sketched out by the fact that the owner was being so insistent on the repair being done in his shop, away from me, even though the previous install was done at my home and the first replacement was also at my home. Because of this I wanted them to be accountable for anything that was out of place at this point.
After I took my photos and was walking away the owner came out and I knew immediately he was very upset that I was taking photos. Every business hates accountability. As soon as I saw him I accessed the audio record app on my phone and started the recording. He began arguing with me and at one point momentarily backed out of the repair. I felt as though this encounter was entirely unnecessary as the issue was already handled and all I wanted to do was go home and wait for the repair to be completed. I remained calm knowing that I had all this recorded and if he didn?ˆ™t do the job my next trip would be to my family lawyer.
I started dismissing the angry little man and quickly saw this was going nowhere and told him I just wanted to leave and I didn?ˆ™t think we needed to be speaking about the issue as we were clearly not seeing eye-to-eye. It seemed he didn?ˆ™t want me to leave he really wanted an argument. Eventually I got him to just allow me to leave and walked off in an angry manner.
NOW, the glass is fixed and in the car but im sure if I ever have a problem they wont be very inclined to help me.
In conclusion the job is OK at best and the owner is a jerk with no people skills. Even though the job is done and the situation is fixed how could he possibly expect any return business or referrals from me after this? How could I even be happy after all this? Anyway, your experience may be good from the start but I just want everyone to be aware. If you want the recorded conversations to see just how arrogant this guy is please contact me by email Jonsmodding@yahoo(dot)com

SOME GOOD, SOME BAD...MOSTLY BAD
This company got off to a rough start with me and while they have somewhat redeemed themselves the owner just left a horrible taste in my mouth.
I started out calling safelite and got a quote for over 100 less than from Rice`s however i am committed to having OEM so i bit the bullet and paid the extra.
My experience started out okay, the installation crew was nice and courteous, seemed to be knowledgeable and they... view more showed up right on time. The entire installation only took about 30-45 minutes and they gave me my receipt and they were off.
Just a little while after they left I sat in the car to look everything over everything and noticed the first, small, but serious mistake. The rear view mirror was positioned so high it was hitting the head liner, it wasn

EXCELLENT AUTO GLASS SERVICE
i awoke one morning to discover that a large limb had fallen from one of our large Oak trees and had shattered my windshield. I called the Auto Glass Department at Rice`s Glass Co. and they arranged for me to have my windshield replaced that very morning. I drove to Rice`s and they worked in close harmony with my insurance company and provided me with a ride to work at UNC. They also had someone pick me up at work t... view morehat afternoon and I was thrilled to have my problem, not only resolved that same day, but carried out in such a prompt and professional manner. I would highly recommend Rice`s Glass Co. to anyone for their auto glass needs.

My husband was mowing the lawn...
My husband was mowing the lawn and threw a rock which broke our patio door. We called Alton at Rice`s Glass Co. and within 30 minutes a salesman from Rice`s came and measured the door. He was very curteous and most professional. Within 2 hours, they had their technicians return and replaced the glass in the door and spent extensive time in cleaning up the shattered glass. My husband and I were most impressed by Rice`... view mores prompt attention to our emergency problem, their professionalism and true concern.

No business ethics
This company tried to charge me an additional $125 for a free estimate. I wanted to purchase just the glass shower door only and have a builder friend install it. They would not allow me to purchase the door only. If I did, they were going to add an additional $125 for coming out and measuring which was suppose to be free. The owner complained on the phone about their driving distance and high cost of gas. The p... view moreerson who measured called me and said they were in the area. Even if they were not, it is about 20 miles from my house to their business. When I told the owner that I will be taking my business to Glass Masters, he HUNG up the phone on me. I would not recommend no one during business with this company.
