Great Service
My daughter`s car broke down in chapel hill over the weekend. It was parked at a Mall lot and I contacted Fred on Monday morning. He was very friendly and towed the car to his facility to diagnose the problem. He contacted me to let me know that the problem could only be fixed at a dealership. He took the car to the dealership for me. I am out of town so all this was done over the phone. Fred kept me informed of wh... view moreat they were doing and i never felt he was taking advantage of me even though i was having to do all this 2 hours away. His charges were very reasonalbe for the work he did before determining the problem could only be handled by the dealership... I would recommend this facility needing someone they can trust. I did research on this aamco facility before contacting fred and after i chose him, i found out he has a very good reputation in the durham area.

Excellent service
I have a Chevy Malibu I didn`t think anyone could fix. Driving down the road my a/c would just cut off and at the same time the electric windows would not work, making my car very uncomfortable to ride in. After a while the Air conditioner would come back on. I was told by other mechanics that I would not find anyone that could fix this problem because it was intermittent. Because the car had sentimental value for m... view moree, I kept it but bought another car to drive. Finally, I took my car to the Aamco RTP on Hwy 55 in Durham to be serviced. They were able to find and fix the problem with my car. Now I have 2 cars and Aamco, that does all my service and repair work on them. Thank you Aamco!!!

Good Repair work and professional staff
I had just moved to the Triangle area and was looking for a good trustworthy repair shop. Took my car to AAMCO in RTP to get my check engine light taken care of. My previous mechanic and others in the Texas area had given up on what could be causing the problem The folks at AAMCO in RTP told me they would be able to fix it even though no one else was previously able to. I did not believe them but I decided to let... view more them have a go especially when they told me if it was not fixed, they would not charge me. Long story short, I have found my new mechanics in the Research Triangle area. Their prices were fair, the work was done right, and they explained everything to me step by step, and even showed me my old parts. I would recommend AAMCO in RTP to anyone who asks.

Rip off, prepare to spend the whole day, and not friendly people to deal with
Unfortunately I decided to go there, the Non welcoming person said it will take up to an hour, I put the car and went with dad to drink coffee and guess what the car is still out...
Car went in, and I wish it didnt, he said u see it need shoes, breaks, and resurface, I already knew that DA I can hear the noise...
The car was already disassembled back and front, and I already spent 2.5 hours waiting, so I decide... view mored to go with them, can u imagine parts ( shoes, and pads, 138$ so I asked can i bring the parts, he said it wont be warranted, and he looked at me like I dont want to fix ur car ) Man what a bad experience...
Well I really did need to get this car done before the end of the day and I cannot just take it out and send it to another place.
They charged me 30 $ for the CHEAPEST oil available, and he saw that the car has more 100 K miles, and still he put the regular one what a shame... I just told him to make oil change, I expected that they will treat the car they way it should be treated but Nope...
Any way the job cost was 275$ If I went to Ace I would have paid max of 150, can u imagine 125 rip off... thats bad..
I will never go there again, even if my car broke infront of them I will pay a tow car to send it somewhere else and not feel that am ripped...
If you want to spend money with no reason go there, if you want to meet a non friendly customer service go there, if you want to regret fixing you car go there..
Thats my experience with them, I hope that I helped?...

DO NOT GO TO THESE PEOPLE!!!
I am furious with these people. I had been going there for routine things. Suddenly I began having trouble with my VW Jetta. I took it to them and they told me it was a problem with the transmission and that they`d have to rebuild it for $3,000. I was upset at the cost, but ok`d it. When I got the car back many days later, it was still jerking when accelerating. Not fixed! He claimed it had to break in for 100 miles ... view moreor so. I took it right back and they promised me they`d fix it right this time. Yeah, right. They had my car for a long time and they never told me what was going on. I called and they said one of the parts they put in was bad. A few days later they said they were waiting for new transmission fluid to arrive. When I get the car back again, it`s still not fixed!!!! I was so angry. I took it to a VW dealership the other day and they said the wrong transmission fluid was put in! Aamco claimed they got the right stuff and that they have a receipt. Yet, how the heck does thet prove they didn`t put the wrong fluid in??? VW also stated it was at the wrong level. It ruined the transmission totally now and it`s going to cost me $4,300 to completely replace it. I am livid and plan on taking Aamco`s owner to court.

woman friendly, fair prices
I usually refuse to go to a repair shop of any kind without my spouse. I admit I don`t know much about car repair, maintanance etc. But, I don`t think my ignorance should be permission to ""stiff the lady"". Anyway, one day I suspected my car was in need of care and called AAMCO RTP to get some estimates to have it looked at. I was surprised to speak with a very patient (remember my ignorance) and kind manager. ... view moreAfter not being scared away by potential cost of a general diagnosis I decided to be brave and take my car in by myself. Once again I was greeted by the kind manager who again explained that they would give me estimates and wait for my approval to do anything. When I received the call about my car I gripped my chair expecting the worst. Well, I finally fessed up and admitted that I know little about the parts of my car that they said needed work. To my surprise the head technician came to the phone and explained what I could not grasp. AAMCO RTP is fair, kind and pleasant to deal with. I have never said this regarding a car repair shop.
