Dishonest, Unethical
Myself and wife was looking for a vehicle, We went to Carmax on Glenwood Ave. We were looking at vehicles when approached by a Salesman, My wife wanted a specific car, We had one transferred from Virginia Beach, VA. It took nearly a week, It had Lower mileage and was a Convertible, So we went to Carmax to sign the papers, Put our down payment on it, Done everything that we were requested, Even got approved for The lo... view morean, Well we sat down in the Business office, Started the paperwork process, Then was interrupted by the Salesman, We left the office for him to tell us we did not meet all the loan criteria, And we could not purchase the vehicle, But prior to that happening, He tried to get us to take another car Higher Mileage, And Smelled like Mold inside the car, Plus during our Conversation with him, He started making fun of people with disabilities, Which I did not care for, During our Dealings with this Salesman, I asked Several Questions, During this time he didn`t know one answer, He continued to get up and go find out the Answers, The day after we were refused the Sale, I noticed that the car that was transferred had been sold to someone else, So needless to say I went elsewhere purchased a Sports Car Convertible without any issues, Carmax Business Ethics Has gone extinct, And Hopefully Someday Carmax will too! I do hope that Carmax trains their Sales Staff on Business Ethics, Teach them how to Answer Customers Questions, etc. This guy did not have one idea about the Vehicles they sell, This guy could not even figure out how to start a Mini Cooper that was blocking in another Car, I have now placed Carmax on my Black Flag list due to this experience.

I purchased a 2010 Nissan Maxima from Car Max in Raleigh NC on Glenwood avenue, within 4 months I needed a jump to and from work, found it was my battery. I called spoke with the general manager Dedric Brooks who told me the service department closes at 6:30 so I began to head over, then he tells me they close at 6:00 and my Max care warranty doesn`t cover battery, that`s something I need to take care of on my own.... view more I then was told by multiple people that Car Max in known for leaving a dead battery in the car you buy, which is why they don`t put that in the warranty. Wish I would have known that before doing business with them, they are a bunch of rip offs and I would say do not buy a car from them and tell your friends and family not to buy a car from them either
