NEGLIGENT - New Radiator * FORGOT TO REPLACE COOLANT AFTERWARDS *MY ENGINE LOCKED UP*
HEED THIS WARNING...do not take your car here, especially if you are female. For $512, my radiator was replaced. Picked up car and drove it few miles, noticed temp was higher than normal. Took it right back to them. Not ONE, but TWO mechanics, one being the main guy, looked under the hood to check if fans were running. Ok they said. Checked thermostat and said it was working fine. Said the norm temp was around 22... view more0 and that the reason it was going higher into the 240`s was a HOT DAY! I believed him and drove my car home, even though the temp was constantly in the 240 range. I drove the car approximately 30 miles. About a mile away from my home, the temp went up to 260 degree range. Never went completely into the RED ZONE. I popped the hood when I got home and let it cool off. There was no steam present. To my absolute horror there was NO ANTIFREEZE COOLANT in the reservoir, NONE WHATSOEVER. BONE DRY! I called my knowledgeable neighbor to take a look and he added coolant mixture. I expected my car to be okay the next morning. MY ENGINE HAS LOCKED UP SO NOW I HAVE TO BUY ANOTHER CAR!
I plan on getting some satisfaction by going to small claims court if necessary. I have to miss work as well as look for a car. I just know they are going to try and blow me off when I call Monday morning.
I will let you know if they are willing to reimburse me for their negligence.
