With our second son on the way any day (I was 8 months pregnant), I needed to upgrade my 2006 Honda Accord sedan to a larger vehicle. I decided exactly which CRV I wanted and I wanted to give a smaller dealership (outside Hendrick) a chance to get the sale. The General Manager Brian Dixon offered me the ??red carpet treatment?? if I drove to Albemarle (60 minutes from my home) to meet with their sales team.
On June... view more 13, 2013 I went to Tim Marburger for a test drive and they quoted the vehicle I wanted. Their original quote was higher than the email quote I received from Hendrick. I thanked them for trying and told them I would return to Charlotte to buy my vehicle. They then offered to meet the Hendrick pricing but I told them that I would prefer to deal locally (5 miles from my home) if the pricing would be the same. I was on my way out the door and the General Manager Brian Dixon stopped me to make one final offer. We finalized the deal, they collected my $500 deposit check and they told me they would contact me shortly to confirm delivery.
Friday came and went, Saturday came and went, Sunday they are closed. Early the following week they finally confirmed they had found my vehicle but it would not deliver until June 24. I told them that was fine and while waiting I sold my Honda sedan.
On June 24 they sent me an email to let me know the vehicle would deliver a day or two late because they were waiting on registration paperwork. On Saturday June 27 they called to tell me the vehicle had been sold to someone else. They would not be able to meet the terms of their original agreement. The only option they offered was for me to buy a different color and trade it in in 6 months when the 2014 model is released. I asked them to honor the original terms of their agreement. They confirmed that they could only search the closest 3 states and nothing was available.
So now I am 9 months pregnant and I have no vehicle to drive (my car has sold). I hold the General Manager Brian Dixon 100% responsible for making promises he didn?t plan to honor. Once he got me to agree to buy from them, he didn?t follow through at all?it should not have taken 3 weeks for them to determine that they could not sell me the vehicle I wanted. Unfortunately, Hendrick had already sold the one they had for me.
Lesson of this story: DO NOT BUY FROM TIM MARBURGER HONDA IN ALBEMARLE. They are more interested in keeping business from their competition than following through on their promises. If Brian Dixon would have let me return to Charlotte and buy my CRV when I originally wanted to, I would be in my new vehicle now instead of left with no vehicle and a baby due any day. I am so sad.

Don`t waste your time working with this dealership. They are unprofessional and deceitful. They worked a deal with me on the phone over 2 days of calls and encouraged me to come to the dealership telling me we were going to be able to make a deal on an Odyssey. I even told them that I could not make the trip unless it was a solid deal. I had also mentioned that I had a bad experience with another Honda dealer and the... view morey assured me they were different, wrong! Meanwhile, they were working a deal with someone else on the same vehicle. They never gave me a heads up that the car would probably not be there when we arrived. I dragged my three small children an hour away from Charlotte, only to arrive as they were signing papers with another customer. I should have known when I arrived what their intent was, but they humored me by allowing me to see the vehicle and even allowed my husband to test drive it. I`m pretty sure their goal was to get us there and try to sell us another vehicle on their lot. The whole experience was shady. I would recommend working with another dealership who might be concerned about how they treat people. Tim Marburger Honda is the epitome of the stereotypical shady car dealer. Do not do business with this company. They don`t deserve your money.

Honest Trustworthy Bill the salesman
The review written Jan 18 2009 is incorrect
I have purchased 3 Honda 1 Civic 2 Accord.
I was not treated unfairly. My terms were not extended.
The buy rate was not padded. I did not see dangerous cars on lot. The cars located at gerry wood and concord
are over priced. You can get a better deal at

Watch out!!!
Avoid this place at all costs. A friend of mine that was a former salesperson told me horror stories about how the dealership cons customers into payments and then screws them by extending the terms and padding the buy rate. I was told for a fact that they put dangerous vehicles out on their lot for sale. The Management staff should be imbarassed for treating their neighbors this way. Do not buy there Used cars
Do not buy a used car from this dealer. I just bought (6/12/08) a used 2005 Toyota 4Runner knowing it needed new tires. I put new tires on it and had them balanced. The new tires did not resolve the vibration in the steering wheel. Come to find out the car needed shocks and struts ( $800.00 ). I firmly believe Tim Marburger Honda knew there was a problem with this vehicle and sold it anyway. I called and spoke to the... view more manager and he would not even agree to pay half the bill.
