Driver beware! The owner is a nice guy, had a couple simple oil changes done in the past. Not bad, just waited. But unfortunately, in my latest & final transaction ...you can never be too sure.
Word of caution, what started as a simple transmission fluid change escalated into their alarmist mode... informing us to change the WHOLE transmission.... They pointed their finger at our previous out of state mechan... view moreic with whom we used and trusted for 7 years -- for having stripped the drain bolt (which was done a couple years back) with the strippings potentially damaging the vehicle... & ----- that it be best to replace the whole transmission!
We had our doubts and opinions from an engineer and two other mechanics. It was in all likelihood that his mechanic, had stripped the drain bolt screwing it back in, in the first place and couldn`t get it to operate correctly. So they decided it be best to just -- up the work & price --- to 6K!
With all the expert advices we got from professionals, we had the vehicle towed immediately to another for review. Our suspicion was correct as the other mechanic confirmed to us of no problems & took care of the drain bolt for $200. To date we have been driving the vehicle and their has been NO transmission issues. The vehicle has been operating smoothly.
We would have been out 6K if we went with Triangle Asian Exports.
Case in point, think twice about taking your vehicle to this place. If you do, they MAY lean towards having you do work you may not require. I was really hoping to trust and use these guys for the long haul as I am new to the area, but in the end, what they did was not a way to run a business... losing us and our network of friends.

Dishonest Mechanic At Best
BUYER BEWARE - Fabricated faulty components with a 300% markup on replacement parts: Triangle Asian Imports failed our car inspection on Friday December 2, 2011, for a faulty power steering pump and quoted us parts with a 300% markup only to have the car pass inspection the very next day on Saturday December 3, 2011, at another location.
My wife took her Ford Focus to Triangle Asian Imports for an inspection on... view more Friday. They said the inspection would be complete in about 30 minutes. An hour and a half later, they failed the inspection due to a faulty power steering pump and then quoted her nearly $400 in parts before labor. I took a look at the pump and could find nothing wrong with it. I then called around to three different suppliers for the same parts and found them for $130. No matter which supplier I used, I was getting the parts anywhere from 200 to 300 percent less than what Triangle Asian Imports quoted. That is a ridiculous markup even for auto parts. On the advice of a mechanic who worked for one of the suppliers, I took the car the very next day on Saturday for another inspection instead of buying the parts. It passed with no issues in the power steering pump. Triangle Asian Imports provides the kind of customer service that gives all mechanics a bad name.

my best experience ever with an auto shop - high level of expertise, professional, great customer se
I had some bad noises coming from my engine, and took my car there to get it checked out. Even though I was 15 minutes late for my appointment, they helped me immediately. The mechanic examined my car, and came back to tell me that I could repair it if I wanted, but that it wouldn`t be worth the money. He explained everything to me in great detail, and made very helpful recommendations for small steps I could take... view more to reduce the problem.
Throughout the entire time I was there, everyone I encountered was very warm and helpful. To top it all off, they didn`t even charge me for the consult since the mechanic spent just a few minutes looking at my car. This was by far my most pleasant experience I`ve had with going to a shop. They really know what they`re doing, and most importantly, seem very honest and trustworthy.

Great place.
I`m only sorry that I don`t work or live all that near to Hontec anymore. I took my hondas in there for years. They`re just good trustworthy people who do quality work. And I always found their prices very competitive.

Courteous Service
Hontech, or Honda Specialists in RTP is the best mechanic I`ve ever had. They are well organized with their scheduling, will provide transportation to your workplace if you get there first thing in the morning to drop your car off, and are very prompt to call you when the service is completed. Tracey (the office person), is very knowledgeable when it comes to auto repair, and understanding when it comes to customer... view more service. No high pressure sales / tricks. They genuinely want you to be happy with how your car performs.

Worth every penny
I can honestly say I`ve never been happier with a car mechanic (I`m referring to the RTP location, but I`ve heard others are good too). The people there are skilled at what they do, they know EVERYTHING about Hondas, they`re friendly, and--my favorite--they aren`t condescending to those who don`t know much about car repair. Highly recommended.
