Trustworthy mechanic

My husband and I have been going to Precision Tune for the 2 years now and Don and his staff are always very professional and honest with us. Today I went to get an alignment and oil change and even though they very slammed busy, Don, the manager took time to explained in detail what was wrong with my car and gave me the best price possible. Its like knowing your personal mechanic

My wife and I have been using this location for about 6 years. Coming from a small town 10 yrs ago to Raleigh I found it difficult to find a mechanic that I can trust that won`t try to just take my money. From day one they have completely gone out of their way for both my wife and myself. Cody and Don have been great. They have given me a sense of ""knowing my mechanic"" in a larger city which is hard to find. I paid $500 for $20 service

After this service, I would not recommend this shop to any of my friends and families! During lunch break, I drove my car to the shop to get oil changed. After the service, I drove off the parking lot for few hundred meters, my steering wheel was shaking like crazy. I feel the car if out of control, and I hear clanking sounds. (when I drop off the car for service, the car was in perfect condition!). So I stop... view more the car in the middle line, and call the shop, ask what happened and if I can drive back. A guy at the shop said it is ok to drive, I need to turn around and drive the car back the shop for them to check it out, since it is so close, only few hundred yards away. So I turned around, after I took off again for 20 yards, my left front tire flew in the air, flying towards to other line, which was still having people driving in opposite direction, I managed to slide the car to the side way. I call them again and ask someone to come out here to get me and toll the car back to the shop. There were body damage at the front, I could not open the door. But they would not admit they touch the front tire, and the bolt got lose, the tire went flying. So I have to pay $480 to get replacement. I mean I would not loosen up the bolt to kill myself, that must be something they did!! there are six blots on the wheel, how does it happen all six of them got losen up at the same time!! It should be a $20 trip and an hour of waiting, now it ends up with $500 and 3 and half hours waiting. I did not ask for it. The address is 5615 Hillsborough St Raleigh, NC, 27606 What a day!

Best Manager in a LONG TIME!

I have been coming to this precision tune now for 5 years and wow....Big changes in 09. I was in on 10/15/09 and got an oil change done. Not only were they fast and courteous, but they were very professional. They noticed that my tensioner was loose and could have caused my belt to pop off. I was about to make a road trip and decided to wait on the belt. But what do you know the tensioner failed and the belt pop... view moreped off. No oil change at this place!

When my husband and I first went into the shop, a staff told us they needed to order a specific type of filter for our Volvo from a certain auto store where they order all their parts from. We then volunteered to go and get the filter on our own as we wanted to get some good engine oil from there anyway. But the staff at the auto store told us that the filter was out of stock. We then went back to Precision Tune look... view moreing for other solutions, but the manager told us they`d immediately order the filter for us whatsoever, so we left our car with them. A while later we went back picking up the car after being told it`s done, which was kind of surprising for the short period of time. After we paid, we asked for a receipt for the filter as the price on the bill barely exceeds the price for the filter our car would require (we had brought in enough engine oil by ourselves so the bill wouldn`t cover the oil cost). The manager dig out a reciept for us, but it was for another date! Then he called the auto store and asked them to deliver a copy of the receipt. A few minutes later, we were sent away with a copy of receipt from the auto store. We were still suspicious because the model number on the receipt doesn`t look right. So we went back to the auto store and asked a staff to check their transaction history with Precision Tune of that day. Turned out the only oil filter they ordered from this auto store was at the time of 8 AM, but we never been to Precision Tune until after 12 PM. Obviously, the manager lied about ording the filter for our car, but they wouldn`t have been able to chang the filter with any substitute, which means they couldn`t have changed the filter. Although Precision Tune didn`t charge much for the oil change, we ended up having to change the oil again the very next day, and had to buy another $40+ worth of engine oil. I wouldn`t trust this place for any of my auto service needs.

Worst Service...Do NOT bring your car here!

I wish I could tell more people about the horrifying sequence of events that occurred at this Precision Tune. To make it short, I went into Precision Tune last year to have my brakes fixed, for almost $500; and after 1 year, my car`s brakes finally seem okay. I went into this place at least 15 times in 1 year...they had to replace my brakes numerous times, and each time they would have some funny comment to give...At... view more one point, I asked the manager what to do if my brakes didn`t work when I left, and he told me to ""Cross my fingers and pray."" Now, if that isn`t enough reassurance when you are driving your car, nonetheless down a hill! I also had someone tell me that one of the guys that worked on my car (the 2nd out of 15 times) was fired soon after. Also, they tried to tell me they were giving me discounts for each time I had to go back since my brakes were still terrible! -I am sorry, I would say that may be called a warranty! Who exactly are these people they are hiring! I now know why their management has changed countless times in this 1 year. Do not go here! Terrible experience!
