Reviews:

2 of 2 I told her I would go ...
2 of 2 I told her I would go get it on 9/6 to pick it up. I had to leave work early and take a one hour train ride to the closest station and walk to the shop. I once more expressed my displeasure at the lack of communication shown and also that her shop had been recommended by another shop right across the way which did not work on Ducatis. The gentleman from this shop that provided me the recommendation was a goo... view mored friend of one of my colleagues. He said that his shop only worked on Harley Davidsons but that he also worked with Nations Cycle and they did excellent work and he could vouch for the mechanic there. I went with this recommendation despite the fact that I had seen some less than favorable reviews online for their establishment. I know that sometimes these online reviews can be skewed and trusted this gentleman?ˆ™s word. After speaking to the manager for about 20 minutes she said, again, she was sorry and should have gotten in touch with me about the extra work and dropped the price to $700.00. I saw the mechanic and he said she was good to go and that all the work had been done to spec. I turned the bike on and the first thing I noticed was that the ?ˆ?wrench icon?ˆ? that signaled service was needed was still showing up. This had not been reset. I was dumbfounded. I turned the bike off and took off my gear and the manager came by and asked if there was a problem. I told her that there most certainly was. How could the ?ˆ?needs service?ˆ? icon still be displaying when the bike had just been serviced?! My voice at this point had gotten a bit loud and the mechanic came back and asked what the issue was. I went over with him about the extra time they took on the work and the extra money I was being charged and after all this why was this icon still displaying?! The icon was still displaying, he told me, because there was some sort of device they had not gotten yet that they needed to reset it. All I had to do was bring it back one day to get this done. After all this extra time and extra money they wanted me to come back. He assured me the work was done exactly as specified by the Ducati manual and that it was done meticulously, there was nothing wrong with that. It was just the issue with the icon that, once they had access to this device, would be remedied in short order. I was not happy but had no choice. I got on the bike and rode off. I had ridden about one mile and noticed the ABS light was not shutting off. I had to turn around. I went back to the shop and spoke to the mechanic again. He took the bike out for a test ride and when he came back he said he was ?ˆ?very sorry?ˆ? and that he would take care of it. He would call me with any issues and when it would be ready for pick up. I could not believe it. They wanted me to leave the bike AGAIN! I had taken the train out there. I had no other means of getting home, they had told me the bike was ready and obviously it was not. He apologized again and asked me to wait. He came back out after 30 minutes to tell me that he would have to give me a ride. There was nothing he could do at that moment. He would call when it was ready. I flat out told him that there was no way that the bike had been test ridden after the work was done or they would have a. noticed the icon was not reset and b. noticed the ABS light was not shutting off. He admitted that they had not. There had been no test ride after the work was done. He was very sorry. I asked when it would be ready. ?ˆ?Really ready!?ˆ? He said he would call as soon as it was. He offered to give me a ride again and again I told him that I had come out from Astoria on the train. I was supposed to go to Massapequa Park and then back home. There was no way I would be able to do that by train. His response was ?ˆ¦ ?ˆ?S__t happens.?ˆ? I could not believe he said that. I picked up the bike this morning. They were unable to clear the wrench icon on the dash that signals ?ˆ?service required.?ˆ?

1 of 2 This was the e-mail ...
1 of 2 This was the e-mail that I sent to the Better Business Bureau. On or about August 17th I contacted Nations Cycle and spoke to the manager to get a quote on service for my motorcycle (a 2011 Ducati Monster 796 ABS). The shop manager asked what the make and model was and what needed to be done. I gave her the make and model and informed her that the bike was due for its 7,500 mile service. The icon (a pictur... view moree of a wrench) on the dash display had come up letting me know it was due for service. She asked me to hold on while she checked to see what the 7,500 service entailed. She came back on the phone and informed me that this would involve a fluid check and replacement and changing of the timing belts as well as a tune up. The cost, I was told, would be around $430.00 and it would have to be in the shop around 2 to 3 days. She asked me to give a call back a couple of days before I took the bike in so that she could order the necessary parts. I called the shop back on August 23rd to let them know I would be bringing it in on August 28th. I spoke to the same manager and was told this would be fine. On August 28th I dropped the bike off and filled out the paperwork. The lady that took my information, this was not the same manager but another staff person, told me that they would get to work on the bike and if there was any extra work that needed to be done I would be contacted prior to doing it to let me know what it was and the cost and obtain my approval. She informed me the bike would be ready on 8/31 or 9/1. I never received a phone call and on 9/4 I contacted the shop again to check on the status. I spoke with the manager again and she told me they were just waiting on an air filter that should come in that day and the bike should be ready at the end of the day and I would get a call letting me know it was ready for pickup. On 9/5 I received a call from the same manager and told that the bike was ready to go. I asked what time they would be open until on 9/6 so that I could go pick it up and the total price on the work. She told me that the total was $845.00 and that they closed at 7:30. When I heard the price I was incredulous. I asked why it was practically double what the original quote was when I had gotten no communication that any extra work would have to be performed. She told me that when they opened the bike up they noticed that belts needed to be changed and they had to be ordered and some other work needed to be done so they went ahead and did it. Again I inquired as to why I was not contacted prior to this as they said they would when I dropped the bike off. She said she was sorry that she should have but since the work needed to be done she just went ahead and ordered the parts and the belts were more expensive than she anticipated. I told her that they knew going in what needed to be done for the 7,500 mile service as she told me this at the onset and that a price of double the original quote was ridiculous without prior approval. She agreed and again apologized but said, again, that they realized this when they opened the bike up and just went ahead and did the work. She then said that the original quote was just for the tune up which was incorrect since she had checked and told me what was needed for the 7,500 service on the bike. At this point I had been on the phone for about 30 minutes without any sort of resolution. She finally said she would drop the price to $745.00 which was still $315.00 more than the original quote received. What could I do? They had my bike and I wanted it back.

Best Custom Paint Jobs Available
I was recommended by a friend 2 years ago. I had just bought my 2002 Honda CBR and this was the first place I brought it to, to get all of its alterations. I called a few places but these guys had the best prices. They gave my bike its inspection then they lowered my bike to fit my hight and put the new chain on. It took only 2 days and I could not have been happier. The following year I brought my bike back asking f... view moreor a pearl white coat, and an emerald design that I had come up with. I literally get stopped everywhere I go, having people ask me where I got it done, and telling me how amazing it is. The paint job did take a while, but all art does. I highly recommend Nations Cycles to everyone. If you don`t believe me go in and check out their portfolio its amazing!

Was recommed by a friend & took my 2007, HD, RK to have the tires change and after takein my bike to my HD Dealer for the 20,000 miles maint., HD discovered that who ever change the tires reassembled the front tire wrong. Spacers on wrong sides, LT: was on the RT. and vera vere... FT: Rotors are Warped from incorrect assembly . I knew something was wrong when I put
the bike on my lift to clean the White Walls,... view more I was unable to turn or rotate the tires by hand. HD corrected the issue and charge me nothing to do it right... Lucky it was no major damage done because I trailer the bike to and from the shop. That will be the last time I take my bike there.... and this was not the first time I heard something about Nation Cycle.
