Reviews:
I had been shopping for almost 3 months testing out all the 7 seater SUVS that are out in the market that interested me. I checked out the Audi A7 (Latham location - great customer service), Acura MDX (Northeast Acura - horrible sales people), BWM X5 (good customer service), Mazda CX 9 (Rensselaer location - so so customer service) - ok i could continue but you get the point :), I went to Goldstein to test drive the... view more buick and GMC acadia and fell in love with the acadia. I dealt with Glen who is the GM and John Kasarkian the sales individual and they were terrific! It was the best non pushy purchase that I have ever had with a vehicle. They were great at follow ups and made you feel like they were honored to work with you and have you as a customer. I felt like I got a great deal and worked with me on getting the best interest rate (thank you Emery!) I will highly recommend them to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle!

sad but true
I purchased a car from Goldstein Auto on October of 2010. The salesman I dealt with was polite and my buying experience was by far the best I`ve had from a dealership. When I purchased the vehicle I added on a service program/package that cost $795. The package included necessary maintenance like oil changes, NYS inspections, tire rotations etc. I did the math and it was a great value for the amount of service that w... view moreas provided.
To short version of my service experience is that on two separate occasions their service department missed finding a nail in my tire. I was forced to take the vehicle to our family mechanic who found the nail, pulled it and plugged the hole in less than 10min.
I determined I did not feel comfortable with Goldstein working on my wife`s car if they could not find and fix such a basic problem. I called and requested they refund me for the remainder of my service contract.
Here`s is where it gets frustrating. They informed me that they could refund me the remainder of the contract less the service that had already been performed (two oil changes) and a 30% cancelation fee. The 30% cancelation fee was not made known to me during the purchase. Their sales manager told me they provided me with a form that stated the conditions of cancelation. No such form was provided.
I requested he produce a copy of the form with my signature and if he could do this I would pay the 30% cancelation fee. Hey, if I signed something without reading it then it`s my fault not theirs. I stated that all I wanted was the right thing to be done, I didn`t want to rip them off because of a mistake I made. He could not and would not produce the form. He then informed me that I had to produce my copy of the form or I would not be able to cancel under any circumstance.
I have left several messages for Mr Goldstein who has not returned my calls. Mr Goldstein if you reading this review this is what I want to say to you...
I was a happy Goldstein customer. I have recommended your dealership multiple times to my friends and family. I even brought by brother and wife to your Subaru dealership and they purchased an Impreza. Although I was not satisfied with your GMC service department I did not let that affect my opinion of your sales department or other dealerships. However, after having to deal with your sales manager, who informed me you where aware of every moment of this situation, I am now a thoroughly dissatisfied customer and will never recommend your dealership to anyone. If you had produced the signed cancelation policy I would have paid you your 30% cancelation fee and left a happy customer, understanding it was my fault for not reading the form thoroughly enough. You lost many future car sales over $100. I`m surprised that someone as established as you is so penny wise and pound foolish.

You reap what you sow
Traded current vehicle for lower mileage used vehicle, even swap. Vehicle they got was in mint condition and they`re selling it for $4000 more than the trade-in value. Vehicle I got had a dead battery (they replaced) and a conceiled cosmetic issue with the front hood. They actually used mud or colored wax to cover up the hundreds of chip marks. Only recently dicsovered this as the wax/mud started to wash off. Yo... view moreu can only assume that this would decrease the value of the car, otherwise why go through the effort to hide it? Well, never again. And I`m going out of my way to tell everyone I know about it. Maybe next time they`ll do the right thing for the right reasons.
