3 years and still happy

as a 2 year customer AJ does a great job taking care of my BMW. Keeping it running is not cheap, and parts are expensive, but AJs does a great job of telling me what is required to keep it running smoothly. Good for some things, and very polite

I bought a used car which needed a ball joint fixed. I called around to different places, and AJ Foreign Auto gave me the lowest quote on parts and labor, so I went to them. The people were very polite and professional. While they were working, they discovered another problem, and called me to discuss it before they continued anything. They told me everything they could do to fix each problem they saw, and gave me pr... view moreice estimates, which were unusually high. I just went ahead with my ball joint, and went to another place for my other repairs. Also, my check engine light was on, and they would have charged me $125 to do a diagnostic. When I went to a repair place that specialized in my car (Saab), they did this for free, and found me all used parts for a much lower price. AJ Foreign Auto only gave me prices for new parts, and didn`t mention used parts. This can make things very expensive! I would recommend going to AJ Foreign Auto if they give you a good price on a specific thing, and don`t let them run away with repairs.

Stay away from AJ Foreign Auto

They are the stereotypical lying auto mechanics. They tried to charge me a ridiculous amount for a repair I didn`t actually need. I may be young and I may be a female, but I do know when I am not being treated with respect and honesty. The part they wanted to replace cost $70 (I did my research), but they wanted to charge me more than $1000. I was very upset because I thought that something was terribly wrong with... view more my car when I heard them describe the ""problem."" Finally I took my car to a different, reputable place who told me that my car didn`t really need that part replaced at all! The problem actually cost only $15 to fix. AJ Foreign Auto are liars and thieves. Beware.

My experience with them was an absolute nightmare and I hope people read this review and avoid going through the same thing. If you`re an expert on cars and know how to argue your way with mechanics, then good luck with AJ Foreign Auto. If you`re like me, someone who needs a reliable, trustworthy mechanic who will be honest and fair with you and treat you with respect even if you`re not a car expert, look elsewhere!
