[2] Second, i had a service problem which Paddock covered under warranty. They were highly professional and fixed th... view moree problem quickly. I had another problem after leaving the car parked for a week or so. THe car would not start, even after the battery was charged. I had the car towed to Heinrich becuase the car was under warranty. Soon after, i got a call from someone identifying himself as teh service manager. He wanted me to sign an authorization to ""run a diagnostic for $89""-- even though the car is in warranty! He proceeded to ask me why i had an a two way electrical splitter plugged into the cigarette lighter and what i had plugged into it. I saw what was coming. He then asked me what non-factory equipment had been instelled on the car. I replied that i did not know. He asked me if I had installed a ""remote starter"". I told him that the car HAD a remote starter, but that I bought the car in good faith. He then told me that because the car had a remote starter on it ""We have to determine whether we can honor the warranty"""". I then called GM, complained, then had the car taken to Paddock Chevrolet. It is too bad when you can not trust your hometown dealer. But then I am certainly not by myself in that experience. Just read the preceding posts about this dealer. They are nice and polite up front, but then once it goes to management, you WILL get conned. You can put that in the bank!
It started when the #1 fob was not transmitting. The used sales manager said that they were ""just a luxury"", and since the #2 fob was working, they weren`t going... view more to do anything about it. I found one online for $25 and had the dealership reimburse me.
I later noticed the sunroof, pass side heated seat and power window weren`t working correctly. I made an appt and dropped it off at 9AM. Mark, the service consultant, was also very professional, fixed the sunroof, but explained to me that they wouldn`t even look at the power window if it wasn`t malfunctioning at that exact time. Not even a visual inspection of the wiring to see if something was loose.
Mark called me back around 1PM, telling me that he spoke with the owner of the dealership and he said they`d go ""50/50 on the repairs"" for the heated seat. I expressed my displeasure, especially after being told if I noticed more problems to just bring it back in. He said he`d have someone call me back. They never called me, just kept the truck overnight without any notification.
I called them early the next morning and Mark told me the service dept hasn`t been told anything. I left a voicemail for Rich and I`m still waiting for them to call me back. All I want is for them to fix these pre-existing problems.
The Jeep place my wife deals with has never given her any problems. They even changed the oil and filled up the gas before she drove it off the lot. Heinrich did neither of those things.
The problem is not with the sales staff nor the service department. The problem lies higher up at the dealership, up to and including the owner. They will not honor what they say.
Avoid this dealership at all costs and go to another one down the road.
