I trust Mark and Ernie
I was referred to ARM by a friend in the early 1990s and have been using them since. They are good mechanics and I trust them. I`ll tell a story that demonstrates how they do business.
I brought the car in because it was making a squealing noise when I turned the steering wheel all the way to the right or left. They looked at the car and told me it had a small leak in the power steering system. Instead of replacin... view moreg anything, they used some viscous product to plug the leak and refilled the power steering reservoir. I think the total cost of the repair was around $20.
Of course, all trips to the mechanic don`t end this way. But I trust Mark and Ernie, and their prices are generally lower than their competitors.

ARM AUTO
OK I took my car here and I had it checked out they said I needed my brakes and rotors front and rear replaced and I needed all of my motor mounts fixed. Ok I got my front brakes replaced and also my front rotors replaced, I could only afford to get my front brakes and rotors replaced so I waited 2 weeks and I came back to get the rest of issues fixed and I pulled off the lot everything seemed ok, ok so the next morn... view moreing. I start up my car and it is making noises that it wasn?ˆ™t making before basically it sounded worse like my poor thing was going to fall apart, I mean it was bad, I took it back there and they told me it could be this or it could be that basically throwing me for a loop so I can keep coming back turning my wallet into an ATM. They did horrible work on the brakes by the way because they was wearing down quick, way to quick. Do not take your car here especially if you have a potential parts car AGAIN do not take your care there they`re scumbags, I trusted this guy who recommended me who he turned out to be a scumbag I forked over over 1,500 bucks to these scumbags. And my car is running worse.

okay so now I spent a over 1800 on my car because my car was running so bad I had to take it back to NISSAN and nissan explained the noise as being ""the left end motor mount"" I had to pace myself from getting upset, you mean to tell me that my motor mounts where the reason the car was making the noise when I took my car to these so called honest mechanics to fix my motor mounts, and obviously they didnt. WHAT A BUNCH OF CROOKS no wonder they been in business for so long ripping people off, and these people below me I dont know where they went because these guys are not honest. remember you were warned.

Honest and Reasonable
This place was recommended by a relative. We`re in upper Manhattan. It`s absolutely worth a trip out to have them work on the car. They are competent. Talk to us like adults. Reasonable rates and willing to discuss options.

Honest mechanic service
I was referred by another trusted mechanic. I was scared, but I trusted the referral. My 1991 Crown Victoria had the air bag light flashing in the dashboard. After disassembling my dashboard and finding the problem, I was told that the air bag brain was fried. I decided not to repalce it and had the dashboard put back together.
Now, I was scared because we hadn`t discussed price or rates beforehand. But my fears w... view moreere pleasantly alleviated when I was told that it would only cost $50 to put everything back together.
That was great! Only $50 for all that work? Not bad. That let me know I had a mechanic who I could trust and wasn`t greedy. Now, 10 years later, I have no regrets. He even fixed a problem another mechanic couldn`t fix and fixed something the dealer didn`t want to fix.
Great mechanic!!!
