Read this before you buy from Southern Image Automotive in Fulton, NY. I recently bought a Ford Excursion with 7.3 Diesel in Jan. 2011. It has been the worst experience in buying a vehicle from a dealer. Within a week of purchase the the entire front passenger side came apart driving down the road. Upper and lower ball joints and tie rods the whole thing. I thought they were good to take it right in and within a... view more week and half had it back to me however as I got it back they put it back together with a bad ABS sensor. From there problems continued. I started having electrical issues and the truck never wanted to start. Turns out both batteries were bad, they replaced one but I had to replace the other at a later date. Found out the costume tune chip they said was in it was bad and wouldn`t work. The serpentine belt was replaced by them 3 times because it kept running off the power steering pulley. Finally after I got on them for it they actually looked at what they were doing and found it had a GM power steering pump. They replaced that pump with a used ford pump and put a new pulley on. I drove the truck for a few hundred miles and the pump was holding up. I went on a trip and wouldn`t you know the power steering pump began leaking. I was out of the state and had no other choice but have it replaced with a new pump at my cost. Since then the power steering pump has had no issues. When I returned with the bill and old pump and went into Southern Image I was pretty much told tough luck it wasn`t their problem and they were not even going to split the bill with me. Then within weeks after that I had to replace the alternator then after that the Power Control Module went, which is over a $1300.00 fix. So in the 3 months I`ve owned the truck I have actually had possession of it for maybe a month and half and the other time it has either been at Southern Image or my mechanics. Beware before you buy from them and if you do be ready to invest some money in your new vehicle and when you take it to them to have them service it because they won`t allow you to take it to your own mechanic be ready for some very crude and un-thorough work to be completed on your vehicle, all they have down there is parts replacers so when something serious is going on they won`t be able to fix it. They look for quick fix and never actually solve the problem. So when you look at there nice looking liften diesel truck like I did don`t be drawn in by the BS you will regret buying from them!
