DONT BRING YOUR VINTAGE CAR HE...
DONT BRING YOUR VINTAGE CAR HERE! ? Absolutely clueless with my classic car. Broke down 17 miles from their shop and would not even cover the flatbed home. They swore they would keep my very low mileage, perfectly restored classic indoors (like they do with their 63 Vette they pointed at) -- they promised to do the transmission work for 2k and have the car back to me in two weeks.?
The car sat outside for 2.5 months,... view more they charged 5K. The car was so poorly reassembled the oil filter, the entire front end and alignment, the steering, and even parts of the body were severely damaged. The car lost its clutch but is always perfectly maintained and in pristine condition. All i needed was a new clutch. The car was returned to me with a puddle of water in the engine head, ignition key twisted (it s a push button start which obviously baffled someone) and completely dirty. It is amazing how sloppy and clueless they were. Major engine, front end, and transmission repairs to fix their amateurish work. If you would like complete paperwork, pictures, and repair receipts for the absolutely awful work I had to fix, feel free to email me - heyman0808@aol.com--- ? but don t make the same mistake I did. sTAY AWAY!

I am very upset about my experience with F&J transmission, they charged me alot more than I expected and the work was done by a kid with no experience, but yet they charged me top dollar for a minor repair. I will not be going back to them anytime soon.

Beware They will rip you off!
Dont ever use them, and if you do make sure you get a written estimate before you ok anything, they will charge you for things you didnt even ask for. I was charged triple what it should have cost me elsewhwere. Sal is a snake he will BS you and tell you things like thats a really nice car, and then charge you ridiculus fees to fix it. STAY AWAY EVEN IF IT IS CONVIENENT, JUST GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Great Job!
Sal took care of me and helped me save money. Thanks to him I was able to get the job done for half the price of a rebuilt tranny. He allowed me to bring in one from the junkyard and they installed it for me.....The car runs great!

Honest and Empathetic
F&J came recommended by by regular mechanic as best to deal with some System Lean and 4th Gear Ratio codes. F&J mechanics were able to fix the former problem quickly and efficiently. For the latter they are going to replace my truck`s tranny and transfer case. They don`t pressure you, and they are good at explaining the technical stuff and at quoting correctly. So far I`m happy with them.

Great Experience!
I was recommened to F & J by my local mechanic to repair my transmission. I took my car in for a test drive & the manager then took me into the shop to show me a transmission and explain what problem I was having. He gave me a rough estimate of $2000 to reapir some gears and other parts in my tranny. I dropped my car off the next week and was told it would be ready in 5 -7 days. It was the week of... view more Christmas 2009 and I brought my car in that Monday, I believe Christams fell on Friday. I got a call by Wednesday that my car was already finished and the price was below his estimate!!! I ended up paying $1900 for my reapirs. Everyone there is so nice and helpful, they try to explain what the problem is and give you an idea of what they are doing. That is good for someone like me cause they could say anything and I wouldn`t know if it was true or not....but F&J was great! 2 months later I was hearing a vibrating noise again and I thought that maybe something was loose from the repair. Sal told me to bring my car right in and someone would look at it for me. Turns out it was a sheild that was loose and they just fixed it up right then for me and didn`t charge me a thing! I would recommed this tranny shop to anyone!

This Company Is Great!!
This company is very honest! I own a 2001 Honda Accord and I was having transmission problems. My friend referred me to Frank at F&J Transmissions and he checked it and also researched the problem and found out that my transmission was under warantee with Honda!! He hooked me up with Huntington Honda and they replaced my Transmission at no charge! F&J Transmissions saved me over $3000.! I even tried to pay Frank for ... view morehis time invested, and he refused any $$ He just asked me to tell all of my family & friends to use him for repairs! That`s the least that I could do , so here I am telling you all that F&J Transmissions is the best in their business! Sincerely, Sandy P, Center Moriches, NY

Over charged & not fixed!
I was told that it need basically a whole new trani b/c that`s just the way the cars are and that I had a lot of miles on the car. I got my car back 9 days later after I was originally told 2-3 days. I finally get my car back and the problem was still there. He told me to bring it back. I did. Said he`s gonna fix it and gives me a whole new list of problems my car needed fixed. I couldn`t afford another $3000 bill a... view morend no car for over a week. So I broke down and went to the dealer. I got ripped off by F&J. I needed a $50 Sensor, not a new trani. I would tell anyone do not go to F & J Transmissions they over charge and aren`t honest. Experts in ripping you off!
