I went to Ruddys to have my Explorer looked at in the front end. Well he (son) called with an estimate and it was $1,300. I didn`t have it. So I said I want to pick it up. He said you owe me for looking at it. I said ok how much. He said 1/2 hours worth of work. I went 4 days later to get it. Guess what my truck was gone. I`ve left several messages for him to call me. Never got a call back. It`s been a year and a hal... view moref. I still don`t know where my truck is. So looks like I have to call the cops. I waited so long because I had to move to Florida because of my mom. Now i`m back.

I worked for Don Ruddy`s garage for over a year and believe Don to be extremely knowlegable and Honest.I send all my friends there and have never heard a complaint.But I have heard many praises.No bodys perfect but when it comes to cars Don is real close.

Beware!

My 82 yr old mother went there for an engine check light warning. Ruddy added radiator fluid which she needed. He then wrote up an estimate for over $800.00 to replace the entire radiator. I (her daughter) took the car to Glens garage in Scotia for an estimate and he replaced and tightened the radiator hose that was loose ( or cracked) and charged me $25.00. Car runs great now!!! It just so happens that when my m... view moreom was getting her $800.00 estimate from Ruddys there was another elderly woman in the waiting area getting the same bad news that she also needed an entire new radiator system for over $800.00!! When we questioned the estimate he responded that he hooked it up to the computer, he wouldnt even look at it for us. Lesson, always get a second or third opinion. We did and it saved us $775.00!!

Honest, low key machanics

I would highly recommend Don and his son to anyone looking for trustworthy mechanics. We have had several cars worked on there over a period of 10 years and we have always been treated well. They are not going to do things on your car that are not needed just to make another buck. They have given us better prices than anyone else and done thorough and timely work. Avoid

I had my car serviced there, and was not content with the prices charged, but had no recourse. A friend had a car worked on, and the problem was not solved. It was clearly another issue and the garage overcharged for uneeded work. They treated myself and my friend with great disrespect when confronted and their unecessary work bordered on criminal activity or plain stupidity.
