Great Garage

This place is great! We were out doing a traffic project in the area and realized we had run over a screw and were going to get a flat. I looked up on my phone for the nearest garage and these guys said they could do it within our tight schedule. We drove over and Chuck fixed the tire in 10 minutes! Phenomenal People

I was blown away yesterday with the level of service I received from Chuck and his staff. I was driving home from Philly to Lancaster on 76 during rush hour when my back left tire blew out. Having never paid attention when my dad showed me how to put on a spare growing up, I quickly realized I was in some trouble. I used my iphone to search for a local garage and Chuck`s was the closest. Embarrassed, I called and ask... view moreed if they 1.) had anyone who could come help me put on my spare and 2.) sold tires so that I could buy one to get me home. Just as Chuck himself was asking me where exactly on 76 I was, a PennDOT truck pulled up behind me. Relieved, I told Chuck I no longer needed someone to come ""rescue"" me, and thanked him anyway. He insisted, however, that I swing by the garage anyway to see if they had a tire for me. If not, he told me he could tell me how to get to the closest place where i could get one. When I got to Chuck`s, he and his staff were there waiting eager to help me. I have never been treated so wonderfully by complete strangers. A perfectly good tire was put on my car within 10 minutes. When I went inside to ask Chuck what I owed, he said ""Nothing. I was going to throw that tire away. It wouldn`t be right to charge you for it."" Even after I insisted, he would not allow me to pay. These guys truly cared about helping me. I would recommend Chuck`s garage to everyone in the Philadelphia area. If you guys read this, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. -Wendy

FINALLY i found a trustworthy mechanic...

with a repair shop i feel comfortable going to!! Let me start by saying, This is the first review i have ever written. ever- i feel i need to spread the word, especially to all females, and car illiterate people such as myself. So, I have had my car for 6 years, since then i have had numerous problems, and a complete rebuild of my engine! a year and a half ago i started to experience, again, the same problems which l... view moreed to the rebuilding of my engine which cost me very close to $5,000 altogether!! I towed my car to a few of the local mechanics here in the Manayunk area whom all told me that it would cost me *thousands* of dollars to repair! i did not have the $$ for this so i had the car sitting in the road for a year not knowing what to do and since i had just paid off the car i did not want to just get rid of it. so i waited. I met Chuck a couple of weeks ago and explained to him my situation. he gave me a rundown of what the potential problems could be, and said first things first, replace the battery and if it turns over, or hopefully starts, we will go from there. being that my car did not run in the first place i couldn`t get it to the shop to do this. so he offered to come to where the car was on his off time and put it in for me! ( a mechanic making house calls?? unheard of!)so he did, and it started! so in less than a week my car was back to life, running beautifully and has cost me less than $300!!! Much better than the other estimates of thousands of dollars i got in the past! Chuck walked me through, and showed me step by step what he was doing, AND why! he didn`t try to scam me because im a female and didn`t know much about cars by adding extra unnecessary repairs, (which happens more often than not!) I am so thankful to have stumbled upon this repair shop!!! Chuck and his staff are VERY friendly and attentive, which makes going to the mechanic less stressful than it already is! I have been to many mechanics in my day and this was the first time i didn`t feel as if i was being ripped off and being taken advantage of. I will never go to any other mechanic. Accurate, Reliable, Affordable

and did I mention pleasant to deal with. In 11/2 years of taking my older Mazda to Chuck and his wife for maintenance and repairs I have never received anything other than high quality, timely, prompt, long lasting work with every effort to hold down costs. Couldn`t ask for more in a neighborhood garage but would travel for this one.

Chuck is a Theif!!!

Chuck consistently over charged us on our car and rarely did the work that was promised. On a receipt of ours we declined the balancing of the tires because we get it free at another business. When it came time to pick up our car our bill somehow was tremendously higher than previously negotiated. Come to find out he did the alignment anyway and when we showed him the receipt that we had declined it, he refused to re... view moremove the charge. He then claimed that he would give us a free oil change to make up for it. So free oil change time comes and we are moving across the country. Not only did we have to stop at another business to REALLY get the oil changed, but he also neglected to top off the other fluids as promised. So we got to pay for it twice because he didn`t even do the oil change. The oil was filthy 100 miles later and the coolant was completely empty!!!! And Chuck, to top it all off....the alignment was so bad that it felt like we were going to go into warp speed when the car reached 65 mph. RIP OFF. BEWARE CUSTOMERS!

Criminal

Lied about what he had done to our car! Damn near had to replace the whole engine due to his lies. If you have had something done by Chuck recently, go to another mechanic immediately and have it redone before Chuck cost you a ton more money. Go somewhere else and learn from mine and the prior posts experience with Chuck!!!
