My opinion is that Lynne?ˆ™s Nissan west in Stanhope uses bait and switch and lying as a sales tactic
5/28/2011 ?ˆ“ We made an appointment with Mr. Labrow for Monday 05/30/2011 at 2:15 related to the Nissan tent event to get a 2011 Rogue S for 39 Months - $259/Month - $2,449 initial payment. 05/30/2011 ?ˆ“ We arrived at 2:15 to meet with Mr. Labrow. He was working with a customer and not available but he had Mr. Oscata ta... view moreke care of us. We explained we were there for the special tent offer of 2011 Rogue S for 39 Months - $259/Month - $2,449 initial payment but we wanted a moon roof on it. He said this model did not come with one but they could install it after market. He had us test drive a Krome model to see what the car felt like. We liked the car and we were going to proceed. We were told there are no more S models available and the supply was limited due to the situation with Toyota. They had 3 to choose from. A blue Rogue which we did not like the color, the Krome we tested, and a white SV- SL fully loaded. We asked about the options for each and we were told the SV had the 8 speaker Boise system, Navigation and all the other extras. He said the SV did not have this but it did have a 6 speaker high quality sound system. The S has the normal 4 speaker system. We explained we do not want to pay for things we have no interest in. We told him to take our contact information and when more came in to call us. He then said he wanted to check out something. While he was away, another salesperson was dealing with a woman and he was telling her the SV had all the same as the SV-SL except it did not have the navigation system. It did have all the same as far as the sound system and the other extras. Either this salesperson was lying to that woman or our salesperson was lying to us. Either way someone was lying and I knew from reading the brochure we had the correct information.
Steve (the Sales Manager) came over. We knew he was there to help close a sale and he said he wanted to see what he could do. He asked us if we liked the SV-SL and we said yes but it was more than we were able to spend. He said what if he was able to get us that vehicle for the same price as the SL without the extra package. We told him it was dependent on the final cost. He had come back with a price of $389.00 with $1,500.00 down for the SL-SV. We asked about the current lease we had. We obtained the dealer payoff amount and he looked at the car and came back about the need for new brakes and tires and stated the service light was on. He was told this was only the oil change notice. He finally came with the following negotiated summary: $3,200.00 down and $369.00 per month for 36 months and 1,000 miles per month. With this he would take the Honda and we would have no further responsibilities.
I explained we needed to make sure it was in her means as this was more then we came in to buy. We than summarized the agreement before we left to make sure we were on the same page and the sales Manager agreed with the salesman there as well. We called at approximately 10:30 am and told them we would take the car.
06/01/2011 ?ˆ“ We met at 7:00 PM and the salesman said he would have the car detailed and ready for us. We got there we were ready to close the deal. This is when everything went bad. Now we are being told by Steve that we have to still put down another $1,800 in order to get the deal. He said we were wrong in what we understood. We told him we knew what the deal was because we specifically summarized it with Steve and the salesman before we left on Monday. Long story short we were lied to and we wasted a great deal of time and effort on this shifty method of doing business. By the way, I call another Nissan dealer and they said they had no problem with inventory and that Toyota had nothing to do with them.
