I?ˆ™ve been going to Able Auto Works (Formally A One Auto Works) for the past year or so for all my engine work. This is one of the few honest repair shops around. Their prices are very reasonable, and the turn around time is faster then any shop I?ˆ™ve been to. My daily driver is a 1972 Gran Torino, and it is no easy task keeping a 41 year old car on the road. Good experience

I took my car in to be inspected and have the oil changed, granted pretty basic stuff. The staff was polite and efficient. I dropped off my car and came back after work (they called in the interim to say the work that been done). I wasn`t overcharged and everything seems to be running nicely. This is the second time I took my car there for inspection; both times the experience was a good one. I`d return if I needed ... view moresomething more done. PS I`ve gone to Pep Boys because it`s convenient, and both times they kept the car overnight for a basic oil change and they kept "forgetting" to call me to give me an update.

Reliable and reasonable Auto Repair in Jersey City!

A One CROOKS

HORRIBLE and RIP OFF. AVOID, one thing they do good is billing. I was ripped off horrible for a small issue with my car. inspite of mentioning the problem the mechanic would keep on spending days trying to fix it.

Great Customer Service

After breaking down in Orange, NJ we had the car towed to Pep Boys. Huge Mistake! They charged me $103 just to look at it. Then they were going to charge me $917 for a job that A One quoted me at $450! In the end, my car was in worse shape than originally thought and I didn`t have enough to cover it. I ended up donating it and Gabriel made sure to hold it for me until the ADA could pick it up on Mon or Tues. Expensive and Rip Off

They charged me 75 dollars for a fan belt for a 2005 Toyota Corolla, retail price for a genuine belt is $30! Not only that, when I left the car there on Saturday they said it would be done by 3:00, I called at 3:00 and they had not even looked at it and now said come back on Monday, if they had said so in the first place I would have gone somewhere else. When I finally did leave it there they changed the belt but did... view more not check if that was the only thing causing a noise so when I picked up the car they said we should also check for anything else that may be causing the noise. So I brought it back the next day and now he says they tightened ""some things"" and therefore charged me for that and for labor! So if they had checked the noise on the first day there would have been no extra charge so I guess they deliberately delayed to the next day so they can charge again. And when I asked what they tightened his answer was - ""Oh some things, they were loose so we tightened it up now there will be no noise!"" Rip off, avoid at any cost.

Professional and reasonably priced

I was 1000 miles past my oil change and my brakes were squeaking. I knew I needed service to my 2006 Volvo but other than that I don`t know a thing about cars.
