Never Again!
On 9/27/2013, I visited Quality Tire & Auto Care W. Bay Ave, Barnegat, New Jersey. I had scheduled an appointment to simply have my tires rotated and nothing else. I spoke with the manager at the front desk upon entering this Quality Tire & Auto Care.. My car was driven into the bay by a young man that preceded to rotate my tires. Upon completion of the tire rotation and immediately upon leav... view moreing the parking lot we felt and heard a loud ?ˆ?clunking?ˆ? type sound at the right front of the car. We immediately pulled into the next parking lot, turned around and went back the approximate 100 feet to the Quality Tire & Auto Care Center parking lot to determine what was terribly wrong with my car. My car was pulled into the bay and lifted approximately 3 feet off ground. At this time the individual from the front desk indicated that you ?ˆ?must have a flat tire?ˆ?! In fact, upon looking at my right front tire and personally observing a lug nut fall off this wheel, it was quite evident that this young man forgot to tighten all of the lug nuts on the front right tire of my car. I was easily able to rotate the lug nuts seeing that they were not even hand tightened. All lug nuts were hanging on the end thread of each lug nut stud. It immediately became apparent how lucky we were that we were less than 100 feet from Quality Tire & Auto Center and had the presence of mind to immediately turn back. I am in complete amazement that a ?ˆ?trained?ˆ? technician could forget to tighten the lug nuts on a car before it left the bay and was out on the road. This could have been a tragic and costly mistake should we have continued on our way and if the tire flew off the car! I am hoping that this did not do any damage to my brake assembly or lug stud threads. Post tightening of the lug nuts by ?ˆ?Larry?ˆ? and during the test drive with ?ˆ?Larry?ˆ?, I had the opportunity to speak with him about such negligence that he agreed should never had happened. I also had the opportunity to speak about the attitude of gentleman at the front desk who is typically dismissive, sulky and downright rude during most of my past visits. Larry had indicated that he well understood my concerns and would bring it to the attention of ?ˆ?Pat?ˆ? the owner. My passenger stayed back and spoke with the man from the front desk that indicated to her something like: this is strike one against him, referring to the technician. We were told that this only happened ?ˆ?one time before?ˆ?, but one time is too many! No one ever apologized regarding this situation that could have ended up very badly. The attitude was again dismissive as a non-event! I initially started going to Quality Tire & Auto Center to purchase tires and to address all my tire needs. My additional experiences of constantly needing to redirect them back to tire needs only (as I service my car elsewhere), in conjunction with the attitude of the front desk and today?ˆ™s lug nut situation makes Quality Tire & Auto Care Center not only NOT my car care center, but now NOT my tire care center either. I?ˆ™D RATHER PAY FOR MY ?ˆ?FREE?ˆ? TIRE ROTATIONS ELSEWHERE!!!!! Oh, By the way, never got a follow-up call from Pat the owner.

Uncaring, Unprofessional, Unapologetic, Unworthy
upon making my appointment I informed the person on the phone I would be dropping the car off the night before and using the drop box. My appointment was for 9 am, so my sons could have use of the car the rest of the day.
On appointment day I called at 12pm and spoke with Frank. I asked if I would get a call when my car was ready. I was told yes.
At 3 pm I still had not heard about my car. I called again. This ... view moretime Frank asked me what car I was waiting for. I described my car and gave my name. After some checking it was discovered that my appointment had been recorded in the wrong place. This business apparently has two lists, one for cars that are dropped overnight and one for customers who are walking in and waiting for their cars to be done. When I didn`t arrive at 9 am my appointment was cancelled. In the meantime my car was sitting in their lot the entire time. No one knew whose car it was, nor did they apparently care. The envelope with my key in it had been misplaced. During my 3 pm phone call it was found. I was told my install would take around 45 minutes and I would get a call.
At 4 pm after not getting a call, I drove there. I saw that my car was in the lot with the new tires installed. After making me wait all day, I would think someone would call me as soon as the car came off the lift.
While Frank was ringing up my install I made him aware what an inconvenience this had been for me. His reply was to provide me with the price of my install. I paid for my install, and asked him what would have happened to my car if they didn`t figure out whose it was. He wasn`t concerned. He said eventually someone would call, like I did.
Since I had paid for the install, Frank considered our business done. He asked me, ""what do you want?"" I replied, ""how about, I`m sorry?"" He responded, ""I`m sorry your key fell in the wrong place."" I responded that THAT was not what needed to be apologized for, and that there are plenty of places to get tires installed and I left.
I never heard an apology for my inconvenience until I asked for it and then I got a back-handed sarcastic apology. Frank did not take any responsibility on behalf of Quality Tire for the numerous errors that led to my inconvenience. This is not customer service in any form of which I am familiar. I am an independent contractor who only gets paid for my work, not my time. One son had a doctor appointment, another had a job interview, planned around the car being available. I rearranged my day to make sure they both could keep their obligations while I patiently, stupidly waited all day for a job that should have been complete by 10 am. I lost income today.
I`m sorry that I paid in full for the install without speaking to someone with more authority than Frank. A sincere apology would have been sufficient if he was capable, but now I wish I had insisted on a reduction of the bill.
Thank you for providing this forum where I can express my deep dissatisfaction
