I will never visit Carmax again. John (chow I believe is the last name) did horrible I had found the perfect vehicle that I wanted at his location. But I live in California. I was told by him I had to fly in the transfer was unavailable but when I got there found out that was not true. I will never shop at Carmax again!

BEWARE ! ! ! My wife and I recently went to Carmax in Henderson NV to trade in my Titan and purchase a car. Everything went very smooth, the sales associate was very nice and helpful he took us out on two test drives and even went above and beyond to get us the car that we really wanted. While test driving I noticed the alignment was off. It was late by the time the paperwork was all done so I made the soonest appt ... view morein 2 weeks to fix. The next day I took it to my personal friend who is a certified mechanic. He was aware it was under carmax warranty and was only to inspect the car.So he proceeds on with a very thorough inspection and tells me that 3 of the 4 struts are leaking bad and need replacement! I then call Car Max while I am at my mechanic, I explain to them the situation, they pull up my info and tell me not to worry its fully covered and its within 30 daysl. She reassured me there would be no problems and stated "Its 100% on us". I informed her I would like them to fix before my 5 days to return are up and she was able to get me an appt the next morning. I report to service, the guy comes out, checks the milage, and he proceeds to tell me that they will have to pick up the struts from Toyota and they will call me in 2 hours with a time the car will be ready for pick up. So 5 1/2 hours later I receive a phone call telling me that they are about to start the alignment, they looked at the struts and "yes the struts are leaking, but they are only leaking a little bit". I then call the Service manager Jim and he tells me that yes they are leaking, but its up to our standards and that it`s normal for struts to leak (funny that only 3 were leaking, if its normal I guess I had 1 strut that was abnormal) He proceeded to stick up for his mechanics and pretty much try and convince me that it was perfectly normal for the entire body and housing of the strut to be soaked in oil. The Service Manager (Jim) went as far as telling me that "Toyota even said that it was ok and they would pass it off as well" I responded with. . . " So your telling me that you brought the car to the Toyota dealership and had them inspect it?" No he says, I pulled up the info from their website and I will fax it or e-mail it or you can come down here and we will look at it together. I asked him so, Toyotas website states that their struts leak oil and its perfectly normal? I replied that I was on my way down and I`m not trying to plead, bargain, or argue. Jim also kept telling me they sell used cars with dents and scratches, not new cars. I tried to explain that leaking shocks are not "cosmetic". In the end I went down there and returned their car and got my truck back cause they refused to fix it.It took 2 hours for them to print the paperwork and bring my truck up from the back. I cant imagine trying to hassle with using their "carmax warranty" (I did purchase). I am shocked at the level of customer service down there. They would rather loose a $17000 sale and a customer for life, then fix the shocks on the car I just purchased from them with a 30 day warranty. Oh and once I got down there they refused to allow us to return the car until I filled their car up with gas (1/2 tank). Oh and I was told the car had no accidents- however once I got home and looked at the car I realized there were aftermarket parts on the front end. I still would have kept the car however if they had just fixed what was broken. PHENOMENAL CUSTOMER SERVICE CARMAX! ! !

My boyfriend and I visited carmax yesterday to purchase our first car as young adults!!! We were greeted by an AMAZING sales associate by the name of Lorissa... her card says "lori." and she`d been a sales associate since 2012 She first identified our needs and wants in a car, being 6`4" we clearly needed a bigger vehicle and something reliable with GREAT mileage and affordable since we`re only 21!... view more She showed us about 6... and let us tell you... she measured our needs so perfectly... the first car she showed us... is the car we purchased. She was able to find us a mid-sized SUV... phenomenal interest rate, spectacular service, AWESOME test drive, FAST financing and paperwork... let me just put it this way... we showed up at 4:00 and were both BACK onto our side of town in North Las Vegas, Keys in hand, Car in driveway by 7:00... fastest and best car buying experience ever... we`ll probably never buy a car anywhere else again.

where do i start? the customer...
where do i start? the customer service here sucks big time. I bought 3 cars from this place and they were very nice and will do anything to sell you a car of course..but once you take that car home, you are on your own, with or without warranty . Every time i make an appointment to get my car serviced, it`s always booked. then when i show up for my appointment first thing in the morning, they always say that they are... view more busy and they don`t have time to look at my car `til later that afternoon. Not sure why i even bother making an appointment then when i show up, they are always behind on their work and i end up leaving my car for a whole day (for an oil change) really? 8 freaking hours for an oil change?. There was a time that i made an appointment because my sunroof wouldn`t open all the way then i end up leaving the car to them in the morning then got a call in the afternoon just to tell me that my sunroof wouldn`t open all the way??? really? Sherlock? And they actually told me to go to Chevrolet Henderson to get it fixed....what a joke!!!

Today it was an embarrassment ...
Today it was an embarrassment for my family and I, i went to carmax henderson to sell an cadallic escalade, the estimate they gave was $26,500, and a guy named Thomas helped me out , i was a little less then what ive asked for but he told me if i can put stock rims back on they will give me extra $1000 more and put the third row seats in they will give me $1500 more. So i was pretty happy about that, cause i had the ... view morethird row seats in my garage. Unfortunately i couldnt go back to carmax until today 5/31/2012 because i was out of town ... and busy with other stuff and it took me awhile to get some stock rims, but all said and done i, when i went there today they gave me a quote that was less then the first time ... $25000 , i was got real angry and so did my family because we wouldnt have went through all that bull to get low balled like that .... i could of took other offers if i knew they were gonna do that .... and the most messed up part is that the paper they gave me said $26500, but i did not have it at the time , so they pull up an estimate they wrote for me the last time i was there it only said $22,000 ... i swear if they showed me $22,000 i would of never even bother to go back to them the first time ... i wouldnt have changed my expensive rims off ... cuz i had better offers then that going off of backpage and craigslist ... they had all there managers sat around the table with us and made us seem like the liars ... and that was a real embarrassment ... and a waste of our time ...

I wanted to sell my low mileag...
I wanted to sell my low mileage great condition Nissan Xterra. First I went to a Nissan dealership and they haggled and haggled with me and only offered me $15k for it. I knew it was worth more from all the research I had done on it. I left and went 2 minutes down the street to this Carmax and within 10 minutes they offered me 17K without me mentioning any price or doing any haggling whatsoever. I loved that! I was t... view morereated great and left with a good feeling. Because of this, I decided to look around at their online site a week later for a pick up truck for my business. I found a great one and test drove it and bought it right then and there. Had a great experience both times at this Carmax and now i`m a customer for life and refer it to my friends.

Horrible customer service @Henderson
Almost no customers on a Friday night. Lots of staff around. No service. We were there for 30+ minutes and were walking out when we received a call from the front saying a sales associate was now available. We had already been to the farthest point in the lot looking at the cars we were interested in. However, without an associate they were all locked so didn`t see much. By now, Carmax was going to be closing... view more in 5 mintues, so we left. We live on the other side of town from this Carmax, but we really wanted and needed to buy a car by the next day. Apparently, with no customers and10-15 sales people either hanging at the desk or walking around, none needed a sale. The one on our side of town have manners & helpful. Even though they were busy the Friday night before, we had someone show us cars within a minute of walking in. The one in Henderson has no excuse. Want good service? Go to the one on Sahara. THEY will help you. They can transfer any car from Henderson to their store.~Apparently, I dodged a bullet in Henderson! The Reviews here are horrible!

I have bought over 120k worth ...
I have bought over 120k worth of vehicles from Carmax over the last 4 years, including the BMW M3 I took in for service. All with extended warranty. I Tried to use my $0 deductible warranty today and ended up being refused the repair and instead being charged $50 to have them epoxy the part back together. When I realized they were going to just epoxy the item I called to cancel and the work had already been done ... view more When I picked the car up the front spoiler had a chip in it and the epoxied part was not properly installed. I asked to speak with the GM Darren who despite my attempts to be cordial about the situation was arrogant, seemed put out and was more concerned about his staff being right then finding a solution to the problem. I even said that I would just touch up the paint and didn`t even get an acknowledgment of the carelessness with my vehicle. I will never return to Henderson, NV Carmax ever again. I am disgusted by the handling of this situation and will seek financial reimbursement for both the $50 and for the bumper repair. Furthermore I have filed a claim with the BBB.
