Let me start off by saying that giving them 1 star is generous.
Midway is the worst place to buy a car. They do not stand behind their vehicles. I bought a used car on a Thursday at the end of January, 2012, the following Sat. the check engine light came on. On Monday I called and spoke to the manager. He told me that as soon as I drove the car off the lot, it was my resonsibility since it was an `as is` car. N... view moreow, I`m not an unreasonable person, it was a used car and I paid $3000. for it (not alot, but still a chunk for alot of people) and I expected problems, but not within 2 days. Since Midway has been in business since the beginning of my memory I thought they make an effort to fix it. They didn`t.
I took the car to my own mechanic the following week, the cause of the light was a clogged fuel filter. Cost me $150. probably would have cost Midway $25. for the part since their mechanics are already `on the clock`. And I would have walked away a somewhat satisified customer for their effort.
While I was miffed about that, I was more miffed when my mechanic told me that during the dianostics a code for the transmission popped up. Turns out it has something to do with the pressure that helps the transmission shift. Found out the part itself is about $30., but it`s labor intensive, so for me to have it fixed, we`re talking $600-$700 dollars.
Maybe Midway didn`t know about it you say? I think they did, as they provided a carfax report with the car. The very last entry on the carfax report, recorded by Midway themselves, was `transmission checked`. Now, I guess their definition of checking the transmission is different than mine. To me, that means there is nothing wrong with it, I guess their definition is, `it`s still attached to the car` so I guess it`s okay.
I ended up cutting my losses and junking the car and bought a used car from a different car lot. The salesman at this other car lot was terrific. It took a week to get the car because I drove it before they checked it out. Turned out it needed some work on it and they had to wait on the part, sure that added to the final price (the salesman had told me that in advance), but they shared the cost with me. I felt like a valued customer to them even though I spent less than $8000.
It will be a cold day in Hades before I buy another car from Midway.

Poor customer service
I have a new Silverado. I love the truck but it got a knock in the motor at 7,000 miles. This happened 3 days before a fishing trip. Service department said they couldn`t help me until the following monday. Had to borrow a family members vehicle for the trip.
