Reviews:
Several months ago we went into Freehold Ford, with the hope of designing a custom box truck that would add productivity to my already existing fleet of vehicles.
Sitting down with the sales representative, we began the arduous task of building the custom vehicle. They did not have any commercial vehicles of that magnitude on the premises, so we had to do every customization via catalog books and internet search... view more.
After several hours of discussion and debate, we finally achieved the customization of what I believed to be the vehicle that would well suit our needs. I placed the order and was informed that it would take several weeks for the customizations to be completed.
Unfortunately, it took much longer then expected. The delay of the vehicle hindered the other arrangements that were made for the vehicle. This lead to costly and frustrating side effects.
When the vehicle was finally finished, it was delivered to our business by the sales representative and one of his colleagues. The truck was well put together, but some of the specific changes we requested were not performed. When we pointed out the oversight to Ford, they told us we would have to pay an additional charge to have the additions put on. We then forwarded the spec sheet that we originally drafted, which stated that the item was ordered originally. They said the description on the sheet was on the vehicle and what we were seeking was something different.
After further inspection of the truck, we noticed that there was a burning smell coming from the bottom of the bed. We noticed that the mud flap was hitting the exhaust pipe and melted onto the exhaust pipe, creating a terrible smell. The rubber is permanently on the brand new exhaust. Ford did offer to send us new mud flaps but they would not replace or repair the exhaust. Once the new mud flaps came in, we attempted to put them on the truck - only to find out that they are not the correct size. We now have to go back to Ford for new ones.
Overall, the experience was less than desirable. We paid for everything on time and in full. If they had at least corrected the mistakes they made, we would have been satisfied to do business with them again.
The communication with the sales representative was good. He would always pick up our calls, and/or get back to us at his convenience. But even a good salesman is not enough for us to do business again with Freehold Ford.
