Worst auto repair experience ever.
Words cannot express how much I hate this place.

When I lived in New York I brought my Porsche here. I was skeptical from the beginning, and really nervous about not having my usual mechanic (in DC) work on my car. The alarm system had started acting jumpy (a common problem in older Porsches) and I needed it dealt with so it wouldn`t go off every time I opened the door.

From the get-go I told my mechani... view morec here that I didn`t care if he fixed it or just disabled it, knowing that if he couldn`t fix it that disabling it should take less than an hour of his time and zero parts.

I also told him to do the car`s routine maintenance. I asked him if he knew what that meant for my car, and he acted super insulted that I would even double-check. Routine maintenance on my car is an oil change and checking the water pump/timing belt for wear, as well as seeing what state the clutch and brakes are in.

$2500 and SEVEN WEEKS later (yes, SEVEN) not to mention dozens of broken promises about when my car would be ready and what it needed, I finally got my car back. During this entire time I was never once given a written OR verbal estimate, despite repeatedly asking for one.

If I were to be generous, I`d say they did about $700 worth of legitimate work on the car. The rest was either pure fabrication or stuff they failed to do right.

Included among that $700 would be the new brake pads they installed -- brake pads with the wrong kind of resin on them, so they formed an improper bond with the other braking components, and though they work fine, they squeal like crazy, which obviously makes driving with my windows down a seriously annoying experience.

Add to that the fact that my central warning light and my brake pad indicator light (neither of which had previously been illuminated) came on within a block of leaving the shop.

Oh, and they didn`t fix my alarm. It was still going off when I stopped to get gas around the corner (which I had to do because they used the entire tank I left them with).

Bonus: my mechanic walked me to my car when I picked it up and then zoomed around Long Island City with me in the passenger seat, going a good 65 miles an hour, narrowly avoiding catastrophic collisions and telling me how it drove like a `real Porsche` to prove the quality of his work.

Worst auto mechanic experience ever. I filed complaints/disputes and got a good chunk of my money back. Make the mistake of going here and you`ll be doing the same.
