Best I`ve ever had
Wow! My experience started out at a Toyota dealer who will remain nameless. I took my car to this dealer for a "transmission issue" . They told me it would cost $800 to replace a sensor. I paid them and wouldn`t you know it , my car wasn`t fixed! I took it back to them and they told me it would cost another $2600 for a wiring harness and computer. I was sick. My sister recommended AAmco in Marlow heights. I... view more called the number listed and an extremely upbeat fellow named Teddy answered the phone. I asked him how much it would cost to look at my car and told him the issue I was having. He jokingly said " 1 large coffee " but followed up with " it`s free as always ". Free diagnostics....??? I thought it was a bait and switch like everywhere else but I decided to bring my car there anyways. I met the service manager , Teddy , at 6:45 in the morning on a Tuesday due to a hectic day ahead of me ( not for nothing but I am an elderly woman and I am guarded about going into a shop that early by myself but Teddy made me feel like I was at home....even bought ME a coffee when he test drove my car). His report was the wiring harness and computer would have to be replaced and he could do the repair but he knew a way I could get Toyota corporate cover it. He told me to go to Toyota and call me from the service managers office. I was confused and teddy recognized that and told me just to trust him " I got this " he said. I went to Toyota and did what he asked me to do. The service manager at Toyota was impatient to the fact that I asked him to call Teddy but he did as I asked. He told Teddy that the car was out of warranty and I would have to pay for the repair. Teddy immediately replied with a federal statute number that mandatided Toyota cover the computer because it controlled part of the emissions and they have to cover emissions parts for ten years. Who knew. I didn`t. The service manager didn`t. Teddy did! My car is now fixed. I didn`t loose a penny. Teddy didn`t ask for anything to do this....but coffee. My sisters explorer is now at aamco for a transmission repair and I will ALWAYS be an aamco customer. For life!
