Suntrup, West County Volvo - AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I recently moved to St Louis and after my car was hit in an accident and totaled by the insurance company, I had to look for a new car. I found a Honda Accord that someone had traded in at West County Volvo. Within a day of bringing the car home I noticed issues with the automatic transmission. After checking a few items out on my own I came to the conclusion (later confirmed by a technician) that the car`s transm... view moreission was shot and would need to be replaced. When I called the dealership the used car manager basically told me that I could go pound salt and that that`s you get when you buy a used car! Of course, when I was there looking at the car they kept mentioning how the car had passed their 110 point mechanical and safety inspection. The issue with the transmission was pre-existing. If their ""professional"" technicians didn`t notice the problem then the only conclusion I can come to is that they didn`t check or they don`t know what the heck they`re doing or they`re not truthful. In any event, do yourself a favor - go somewhere, ANYWHERE, but DO NOT go to any Suntrup dealership. Also, the joebaker007 review was confirmed to me by an individual who worked for this Volvo dealership. I`d give anything if I`d known this beforehand.

Fraud - Protect yourself, Don`t go to Suntrup auto sales

I wish I could have avoided the transaction altogether as it would have saved my wifre and I a lot of unrest and difficulty. We purchased a ""new"", current year, very low miles, $50,000 vehicle. Needless to say afterwards we found out that it had been in an accident (which was not disclosed to us). We found the report on CarFax (by accident) the same day after purchasing it. When we tried to return it or see what ot... view moreher options they would give us, they treated us like we were in the wrong and there was nothing we could do about it.

After much time and deliberation with various lawyers, Suntrup realized we were willing to take it the distance and they allowed us to bring the vehicle back. We were lucky as this is almost unheard of. Please note, the lawyers we talked to said all car dealers are snakes, but Suntrup is the worst. When we started looking around for vehicles again, we went to various dealers of various car makers. It surprised us that when we related the experience we had (not mentioning Suntrups name) they ALL said, ""let me guess, Suntrup"". This shocked us, but even more than that one salesman told us he had worked their 8 years ago and 5 salesman quit in one day (including him) because of the companies dishonesty. This must not be anything new to the dealership.

Just protect yourself and make sure you are getting what you think you are getting. Read the paperwork VERY carefully and check the vehicle out before signing anything. Make sure it is all in writing and make sure you look up a CarFax even though it may be a new vehicle. have someone look at it who knows how to detect damage.
