In July 2012 I took my 2003 Sa...
In July 2012 I took my 2003 Saturn Vue to Dwayne at Payless for air conditioning work. After waiting 3 days I took my car home yet the air conditioning still wasn`t working properly, I told Dwayne I would bring it back in the following week and he agreed to re-do the repairs. In the meantime my transmission had started acting up so when I returned to the shop I spoke with Dwayne about it and he told me that he had se... view moreen this before and that changing the filter would fix the problem and that I could pick up my car the next day. 2 Days later the repairs were "done" and I picked up my car and paid the bill in full. The air was still not working correctly, only putting out cold air in spurts and the transmission was still acting up, yet Dwayne assured me that the transmission would be fine after a few hundred miles. On August 2nd I had to drop my car back off at Payless because reverse had gone out completely and it would not drive forward at more than 30 mph. Dwayne then tells me I would need a new transmission and that he would research transmissions and give me a price to replace mine. On August 7th I went to Payless and Dwayne gave me 3 options: he had found two transmissions, one on ebay for $2400+$200 and one at County Line Auto Salvage for $2800. The third option was to have my transmission rebuilt which would be $3400. We agreed on the transmission from ebay and Dwayne said he would charge me $3250 for the job and that they would also finally take care of my air, which I had already paid around $300 for. The transmission arrived a week later and another week went by when I called to check on the progress when Dwayne informed me that "they" sent him the wrong transmission and he offered to have mine rebuilt for no additional charge because of the trouble. I agreed to this and now three months have gone by with one excuse after another from Dwayne about why my transmission hasn`t been repaired, while my car has been sitting in pieces in his shop. Not only has he refused to get my car repaired but he is trying to charge me for parts that they aren`t even using for my car and subtracted $364 from my deposits for work that he did on my girlfriends moms car, which she has paid $200 towards. Now he is trying to turn the operation of the shop over to his son, although he assures me that they have me a correct transmission ordered, that they want to double my price on, and the son is trying to tell me that he has a contract with his dad that states that he won`t be encumbered by any previous agreements made by his dad. My girlfriend has been the one dealing with most of this because I am a full time student as well as work full time, and she has had to have the police escort her to the shop on several occasions in order to force Dwayne to provide information as to the whereabouts of the transmission itself. Now, Dwayne is claiming to have been the victim of identity theft and that`s why he couldn`t afford to order the transmission sooner, yet they are trying to tell me that it still won`t be finished until at least the first week in November and they are trying to force me to pay for the new transmission because they spent my money on parts for mine that after 2 months they said couldn`t be repaired. I am so frustrated with the situation. I am considering small claims court but I don`t know that I would ever be able to collect anything but my car and be out the money I initially paid.

I live in oak grove, Missouri ...
I live in oak grove, Missouri and i have a major problem with a mechanic in town. The mechanic is named Dwayne E. Leonard he owns Payless Express Car Care Center on 1101 S Broadway St. Oak Grove, Mo. I looked at a 1990 Cadillac Fleet wood on April 8Th, 2012 and Dwayne guaranteed my mother Christina bindi that it ran good it was priced at 1,800.00 or best offer when the blue book value was only 1500.00( the Toyota blu... view moree book value was 2000.00), the auto shop owner informed us that the fuel injector needed replaced. We offered to trade our 2000 Toyota corolla to him for some money off the car. We thought the Toyota had a warped head, and he agreed if we traded the Toyota and gave him a thousand dollars that it would be fine and that he would fix the fuel injector on the Cadillac. We only had 700 dollars at the time and Dwayne agreed to take that and we would pay him the 300 of the money we still owed and have the title to the Toyota which we had to get a new title because the original was lost on April 14, 2012. We left the car with Dwayne so he could fix it while we waited for the title and waited to get paid. On April 14, 2012 we got the money and the title and took both of them to Dwayne. At that time i did not have the 300 dollars i only had 200 and he agreed to take 200 and allow me to buy the fuel injector and he would put it in for free. I was told that the car could drive without the new fuel injector until i could acquire the money. I took possession of the car on April 14 Th and Dwayne gave me an inspection sticker without performing an inspection. I then proceeded to title and Tag the car in my name so it could be driven. Later that week i bought the fuel injector and took the Cadillac to him so he could repair it. Later on the same day i took him the car to be repaired i contacted him to see how the repair was going and he informed me i would have to come up there. When i arrived he informed me that the fuel injector was not what was wrong with the car and returned me the fuel injector. He would not at that time tell me what was wrong, he just told me he would take care of it. A couple days later he informed me the car was ready but that there were a couple things wrong with it. He said he fixed active vacuum leaks in the car and that the water pump and map sensor were out in the car and that i would have to purchase those parts and he would do labor for free. The car started to run badly right after i got it and i informed him it was not working correctly and he told me to bring it to him. I then purchased those parts a couple days later. A couple days after that he called to let me know i could come get the car. That same day after getting the car in my possession the car began to not run correctly and we so we checked the fluids and there was no anti freeze in the car. I put anti freeze and gas in the car and before i could make it to my house which is a mile away the car was not running correctly and i could not even put the car into drive and it kept dying, i informed him of this and was told that it was out of time and that it needed to be timed correctly. That same day his mechanics came to tow the car. Today is May 14, 2012 and he has had possession of the car since the day they came to my house to tow it. He informed me that he has put multiple new parts on the car as well as clean it up but it still does not run! Now he has informed me that he wants money because of all the parts and labor he has put into this car for free. But as i see it i bought a working car with a bad fuel injector which was an "easy job" as to what he told me and i got a car that has been in the shop for almost 30 days. He has had more possession of the car then i have. And today Dwayne informed me that he has done everything he can think of to the car and that there is nothing else he can do. A mechanic is the one person i thought i could trust to purchase a car from and i got the short end of the stick with no car or money.
