Customer for over 30yrs
I have used the service of this auto repair business for over 30yrs. I have never received bad service ands found they usually went out of their way to fix problems other garages could not. I do allot of my own service and know my way around cars. I have used many other automotive service businesses and know a great one when I see it. You can trust they will not try and con you and do outstanding work

WORST SERVICE EVER.
I am so disappointed I would not even give this place a star if it was not required to publish this review. I have told all my friends and family NEVER to go to this place.
Initially I went here because when I explained what was wrong with my vehicle I was told the cost would be 400-700 dollars max. For my car, that was a great deal, and I told the guy I was told it would cost me at least 1000 anywhere else.
I ... view moreasked about any fees I might have to pay and I was told if I decided not to have the repair done at Oakville Automotive, the diagnostic fee would be around 50 dollars.
After the diagnostics I am told that the repairs to my car will be 2000 dollars. After talking to several other buisnesses, the average cost is supposed to be 1200 dollars.
I told Oakville Automotive their price was just a little too high and id like to pay the fee so i can take my car somewhere else, and i was then informed that my diagnostic fee equaled 120 dollars. Almost triple what i was told the first time.
When i went to pick up the car i faced the worst customer service that i ever experienced. I had to sit around and wait to get my key and pay my fee while two associates finished their conversation.

NOW THE REAL STORY
I like how people will hide behind their computer. All customers receive an estimate before we begin working on their vehicle. Once it is authorized we will continue. It does take time to find and locate a problem without guessing, but people think we can do that for free. If there are any additional charges they are authorized before we go any further and they are given the option to stop or continue. If additional ... view morecharges are authorized we expect to be paid that amount because the customer authorized it. For some reason some people think they should not pay any addition charges after they authorize them. As a member of AAA we have to be within 10% of all authorized amounts and we are. If they want us to do the whole job then great, if they find another shop that will do the job cheaper that is fine too, most of the time they are not comparing apples to apples which is fine. But we should be paid for our time especially when it is authorized by the customer. We have not been in business for over 30 years by accident. It is by having competitive prices and great customer service. Sorry if you have to wait a few minutes while we service another great customer in front of you, that does happen from time to time when we are this busy.

BEST IN TOWN!
I have been using Oakville Auto for many years. Dave and the guy`s always provide top notch service. They fix my car right the first time. They even gave me a free loaner car while they fixed mine. I am always satisfied with their service.

SHOTTY MECHANIC...BEWARE
Nice folks but be carefull.I had 2 rear axle assemblies installed and apparantly they forgot to put and or tighten the bolts in the brake calipers. It was ok for a couple of days and suddenly I had real bad brake noise and vibrations.I was away from this shop at the time so I took it to Dobb`s down the street from my work, they called me and told me that the right rear calipers had zero bolts in it and the left rear bo... view morelts you could loosen by hand.I am happy to be alive and that I did not hurt someone else.Really bad attention to detail, makes me wonder what the rest of the repair is like? I AM GOING TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP!
