I live in South City now, but when my van started making alarming noises everytime I tried to turn, I arranged to bring it back to St. Charles and have Roberts look at it. My parents have trusted their work for years, and I had already run through two of the `big name` shops and come away unhappy, either because I came away broke or because I came away with new issues and couldn`t be sure they didn`t result from the... view more work that had been done.

Roberts took my van in, diagnosed the problem, fixed it and I had it back that evening. They took the time to explain what was wrong, and the price was a LOT lower than I expected. So far, the van works perfectly again, so I was happy anyway.

But they really won my heart the next morning when I got in my van and happened to notice the display. My van is older, and it has a digital screen that displays the mileage and trip odometers. For several months now, the screen has been dim, and I hadn`t gotten around to investigating the fuses to fix it. Well, apparently Roberts did! It`s a small thing, but they didn`t have to do it (and the big shop guys clearly never thuoght to do it). I appreciate it and I appreciate them.

Great Service - Never a Problem

They have never done work without letting me know the cost and they have always suggested less expensive alternatives when they are available. Last service I also had a state inspection and had a real lens broken. They saved me about $80 by getting a used lens instead of a new one. Prices are very reasonable and they are fairly quick.

You get what you pay for!

For as long as I have been driving, I have taken my car to different shop. He is painstakingly honest and great at his job, but his location isn?t very convenient. My husband had bought 2 tires from Roberts Automotive and was pleased with their service so we decided to try the shop for other repairs. On March 21, 2008, I dropped my car off for an alignment and the required inspections. While I was pleased with th... view moree price, when I drove the car it was still pulling to the left and bouncing all over the road. Unfortunately, it took me a month to bring the car back in. On April 23, 2008, the mechanic called my husband and told him the alignment was fine, but the tires need to be replaced. This irritated me. They are a tire shop, why didn?t the mechanic tell us we needed new tires before doing the alignment and charging us for an alignment that will have to be redone after we buy new tires. So we?ve already wasted $49.95!

However, my irritation paled in comparison to my anger when I discovered my windshield was cracked. It was too big for this to have happened without someone?s knowledge. My windshield was broken while the car was in their care; there was nothing wrong with my windshield when we dropped off the car. When my husband called and spoke to the manager about the windshield, he was told they are not in the business of doing windshields for free.

I don?t know if they have dishonest mechanics or unethical management techniques, but we will never do business with this company again. We are really appalled they blew off my husband?s complaint. We have told all our family, friends, and neighbors about this experience.

Love this place

Roberts has the best customer service. I trust the guys that work on my car to tell me what my options are and I never feel as though they`re taking advantage of me or selling me something I don`t truely need. I would recommend them to anyone. . . in fact I usually do. Good people, good service, and very trustworthy.
