Last year, I bought my husband a 1971 Karmann Ghia convertible for his 40th B-day. It needed some restoration work. We brought it to Further Performance in the fall of 2010 because they had just completed restoration of a 1971 Karmann Ghia coup that looked great. Tristan at Further Performance ensured us that they could complete the restoration of our car for the budget we had agreed upon ($10,000) by my husband`... view mores B-day in April. In March, we were alerted that the April deadline probably couldn`t be met but it would be done in May; in May we`re told June, in June told July until Tristan finally tells us that there`s too much rust and the car can`t be finished at all. This is of course AFTER collecting the full $10,000 for the job. My husband worked for months with Tristan to try and figure out a suitable solution and after repeatably feeling as though Tristan was lying to us, we finally had the car, in a million pieces, taken to another restoration shop in Oct. 2011. THEY have been able to restore the car in only 3 months and within budget.

Even though the restoration wasn`t even close to completed by Further Performance, Tristan has refused to give us any of the $10,000 we paid him back. The car was taken apart, but in no way, shape or form was it put back together. (Note that we drove it into the shop when we dropped it off for restoration.)

Tristan and Further Performance SOLE $10,000 from us and completely ruined my husband`s 40th birthday.

DO NOT GIVE THIS OUTFIT ANY MONEY UNTIL YOUR PROJECT IS COMPLETE. They`ll take your money and then never complete it otherwise.

We have restored our 1951 house top to bottom and fully understand that there will be issues uncovered during restoration and likely even some hidden costs. The way that Tristan and Further Performance has handled this whole thing was very unprofessional and unethical. In the end, the problem here was that Further Performance didn`t have the skills to complete this restoration but refuses to take any responsibility.

I highly caution anyone thinking of doing business with this outfit - they clearly don`t have a problem lying and stealing from customers.

This is the most affordable, best VW and audi repair shop in town.

Can do ground-up restorations, performance add-ons, or just routine maintenance. Great place. I think they do all European imports. VW, BMW, Audi, and Porsche for sure. I think Mini and Volvo, too. Reliable, Honest, and thorough. Very knowledgeable about my VW.
