My friends and I, when we talk about getting hosed with fictitious car repairs, Jim Cooper`s frequently comes up. If you want to be talked into getting struts for your car un-necessarily Jim Cooper`s is the place to go, their sales pitch hits you before they even put the vehicle on the lift, doesn`t matter how many miles are on the vehicle, that it drives true, or tires are wearing evenly, they have struts for you, d... view moreon`t fall for the ""your struts are leaking, let me show you"". If you want broken studs their ""state of the art"" torque wrench is guareenteed to put the lug nuts on so tight that if you are able to break them loose on the side of the road you`ll twist off the studs. Warped rotors, front end shakes, bearing breakdown are the end result. If you ask them to stand up for their work, they`ll say you should have brought it back to them for servicing (of their mistakes). I am shocked that I received a flyer today in the mail listing Jim Cooper`s as being voted Best Local Mechanic"" in the Eagan Magazine. Must have a wonderful PR department. Only place that comes close is Tire`s Plus (another long story). If you really want quality work done, talk with Herb at Car-Ex, Eagan or John at Automotive Service Center, Burnsville.
